I usually write based on photos and tie them to a theme, but today I won’t, simply because it’s not the moment. Still, in honor of the habit, I just want to say these photographs bring back memories of a good day—one that might go unnoticed when suffering weighs heavier.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but I feel like I perceive a lot of suffering—in every sense, in all its different forms. Maybe the kind I’ll describe doesn’t compare to the most visible, the rawest, or the worst.

Why do we suffer?

They tell us it’s because of the ego, and how we cling to it. And also because of the illusion that we are masters of our destiny, and therefore fully responsible for it. So, when something doesn’t work out, it’s entirely our fault.

And there it is again—pain.

That feeling is dangerous, because it doesn’t just eat away at emotion, but at reason too. And when both are lost, alienation throws you off, and the weight of existence speeds up the fall.

There is more than just suffering—and feeling it is part of the whole.

Suelo escribir con base en las fotos y las relaciono con un tema, pero hoy no lo haré porque simplemente no es el momento. Sin embargo, en honor a la costumbre, solo quiero decir que estas fotografías traen recuerdos de un buen día que puede pasar desapercibido cuando el sufrimiento pesa más.

No sé si sea solamente yo, pero creo que percibo mucho sufrimiento en todos los sentidos y en sus diversas formas. Tal vez el que describiré no se compare con el más evidente, el más crudo o el peor.

¿Por qué sufrimos?

Sí, nos dicen que se debe al ego y a cómo nos aferramos a él. Y también a la ilusión de que somos amos de nuestro destino, y que por eso tenemos la completa responsabilidad de ello. Por lo tanto, cuando algo no funciona, es completamente nuestra culpa.

Ahí viene el dolor otra vez.

Esa sensación es peligrosa, porque no solo carcome la emoción, sino también la razón. Y cuando ambas se pierden, la alienación te arroja y el peso de la existencia acelera la caída.

Hay más que sufrimiento, y sentirlo es parte del todo.
