The Tourism Potential of Cerro El Café (ENG-ESP)
ENGLISH
The hill is a special place. Although I sometimes regret it along the way due to the fatigue, it’s all worth it when you reach the top and take in the view. You realize how small and insignificant everything is.
In this post, I won't get philosophical or anything like that; I just want to share the sense of relief I feel when I climb a mountain.
On my recent trip, I visited Cerro El Café, my favorite in Valencia, Venezuela.
I've gone alone before, but this time I had the company of a traveling vlogger whose content is gaining more traction in Venezuela.
His YouTube channel is called Pipo Adventures. And no, he’s not paying me for this post, but I think his videos are worth watching, not for their technical quality, but for the energy and transparency he conveys.
In fact, due to the lack of technical quality in his videos, I wrote to him offering to edit some of them, and he suggested we collaborate.
Instead of just editing the video, he asked me to join him and record one of his trips. It sounded like a good idea, so we went along with his dad to a mountain we both like.
Pipo is a guy who doesn’t play a character in his videos; he is himself, and that’s not easy to find in the world of digital content.
Anyway, we arrived at a very unusual time to climb a hill: 1:00 p.m.
The sun was at its peak, but since I had a hoodie and a cap, I wasn’t worried about it. In fact, the mountain is surrounded by pine trees, which is one of its main aesthetic attractions.
We climbed for almost three hours, mostly because we stopped to record the video and I to take photos, also because his dad has a different pace.
The path looks long, but the hill doesn’t reach even 1,500 meters in height. What makes it incredible for exercising or exploring nature without too much physical effort, of course, depending on each person’s level.
On the way, we talked about life, work, and nature.
El Café was relatively empty that day since we climbed on a Thursday. Generally, on weekends, there are a lot of people.
We only saw a few cyclists. Many extreme cyclists come to this mountain, descending between the rocks and difficult paths.
You have to be a bit careful because they can appear at any moment.
Some shouted “Cuidado!” (Watch out!) and we stepped aside.
There are several paths, and we took the one for cyclists.
There’s another paved path used by people who drive up in their trucks or motorcycles.
El Café used to be a place for barbecues in some huts (at the top). It was a family environment, so I’ve been told.
Today, the ruins remain, but they are still usable.
However, I see the need to take advantage of the great tourism potential this area has.
The natural beauty is there, but it needs to be done with ecological awareness; otherwise, it would be best to leave it as it is.
That’s what I was talking about with Pipo as we walked and explored the summit.
Solo vimos algunos ciclistas.

You're sweating like Peppa Pig on New Year's Eve, crawling up the huge hill and every step is a little "why the hell am I doing this to myself?". Sweat trickles down your forehead, your inner voice screams that you could have stayed on the couch under the air conditioning with a beer in your hand - but no. You decided to be "active" and "conquer peaks." Just when you're on the verge of giving up, you come out on top. The view opens up, the world below looks like a little model, and you look like a person who did something meaningful today after all. And, of course, the moment calls for a selfie - because if there's no photo, did you even climb? The climb is a reminder that every victory takes effort. And maybe a cold beer. The view is great, but come on, let's not lose a Hiver in the mountains because of the heat, we'll need to rescue you later - and without air conditioning and WiFi, haha. I need to stop talking 😅😂😂😂😂
You have described my feelings when climbing the mountain best, hahaha. However, I don't usually drink beer. Thank you for such a good comment, please don't stop talking.
The beauty of the hill is really special, definitely get a very extraordinary pleasure ❤️
It is definitely special
Nothing better than this impressive view from the Cerro Café. I hope at some point to be able to visit this place.

Saludos!
