The Power of Religion (ENG-ESP)-Monomad challenge

My opinion is that religion is a way of life based on values that stem from love, but also from guilt.

Sin represents prohibition, yet millions of sins are committed daily. Religion doesn't offer an answer to this beyond guilt and punishment.

However, religion is also culture, and applying cultural relativism, it shouldn't be considered "less." Traditions like the Dancing Devils of Yare, for example, are a representation of the mestizaje (racial and cultural mixing) in a country like Venezuela, which was colonized by the Spanish Empire.

Mi opinión es que la religión es una forma de vida basada en valores que parten del amor, pero también desde la culpa. El pecado representa la prohibición, pero a diario se cometen millones de pecados. La religión no ofrece una respuesta a esto más allá de la culpa y el castigo.

Sin embargo, la religión es también cultura, y aplicando el relativismo cultural, no debe ser considerada "menos". Tradiciones como los Diablos Danzantes de Yare, por ejemplo, son una representación del mestizaje en un país como Venezuela, que fue colonizado por el Imperio español.

Like it or not, the Catholic Church managed to administer the different cultures resulting from imperialism, not only to subjugate them but also to allow Black people, Indigenous people, and white people to coexist. And that's no small feat.

Nos guste o no, la Iglesia Católica supo administrar las diferentes culturas, producto del imperialismo, no solo para subyugarlas, sino también para que coexistieran negros, indígenas y blancos. Y esto, no lo logra cualquiera.
