The photography cliché of shadows-Monomad challenge
One of the cliché phrases in photography is, "photography is painting with light."
And mind you, I don't say cliché in a derogatory way, because sometimes we tend to demonize what's common.
We're selfish and we appropriate what is ours. The more it's replicated, the more we believe it loses value.
That's pure ego right there...
So, going out to photograph at five in the afternoon is the ideal time to paint with light: taking advantage of its shadows, the texture, and the volume that the sun's rays generate on architecture, etc.
Here's a cliché phrase (a truly cliché one): the golden hour is fascinating, it gives you the best results.
Although all the photos I'm presenting were indeed taken at that time, I must say that photographing during hours when the light is strong (from 10 am to 3 pm) can also be worthwhile, but that will be for another post.
