The photographer photographed: my self-portraits

One of the many ironies of life is that a photographer does not usually like to be photographed.
In my case, it's because I simply prefer to give the limelight to other people, because maybe they deserve it more than me.
Not because they are better than me or anything like that, but I realize more and more that I feel more comfortable from the viewfinder of the camera than in front of it.
Una de las tantas ironías de la vida, es que a un fotógrafo no le suele gustar ser fotografiado.
En mi caso, se debe a que prefiero simplemente darle protagonismo a otras personas, porque tal vez lo merezcan más que yo.
¿Por qué? No porque sean mejores que yo ni nada por el estilo, pero cada vez me doy cuenta de que me siento más cómodo desde el visor de la cámara que frente a ella.
It is like a sense of security that no one else sees the object to be photographed except me, and I am the only one entrusted with that power.
This does not mean that I refuse to be photographed. However, I prefer to be photographed by myself, because I know what I want and how.
It is a little more difficult, but I have liked the results better when I take self-portraits than when someone else photographs me.
Anyway, I also like the photographs that have been taken of me, and I hope to publish them on another time.
Es como una sensación de seguridad el hecho de que más nadie ve el objeto a fotografíar, excepto yo, y que se me confíe ese poder.
Esto no quiere decir que me niego a ser fotografiado. Sin embargo, prefiero que quien me fotografíe sea yo mismo, porque sé lo que quiero y cómo.
Es un poco más difícil, pero los resultados me han gustado más cuando hago autorretratos, que cuando otra persona me fotografía.
De todos modos, las fotografías que me han tomado también me gustan, y espero publicarlas en otra ocasión.
