POMEGRANATE TREE DISCOVERED IN A HOTEL CORNER

This summer I spent my holiday with my family in Cyprus. To be honest I had big hopes for this trip. I thought I would visit lots of new places, take a lot of exciting photos and explore the island from north to south. But life had other plans. 😅

It turned out that renting a car was to expensive – much more than I expected and to make things worse the insurance didn’t even cover the tires!. So instead of traveling around the island, I spent most of my time near the hotel. We only managed one trip to Famagusta and yes, photos from that beautiful town will definitely appear on my profile soon. 😉

But sometimes you don't need to go far to find something interesting.
One afternoon while walking through the hotel gardens I noticed a small tree hidden between some hedges. When I looked closer I realized what it was – a PUNICA GRANATUM – or more commonly, a pomegranate tree.

I was so excited! I had never seen one growing in real life before, only at markets. And here it was, right next to our hotel with its round, red - green fruits hanging like ornaments.

📸 Of course I couldn’t miss this opportunity. I took a few close-up shots and spent a while just observing it.
And now a little educational moment for you because that is what I love sharing!

🔍 Did you know?
PUNICA GRANATUM is one of the oldest cultivated fruits in the world. It comes from Iran, India, and the Mediterranean and has been grown for over 4,000 years. The fruit is full of antioxidants, vitamin C, fiber and potassium. Ancient civilizations believed it was a symbol of life, fertility, and immortality.

Pomegranates are often called a “superfruit” because of their health benefits especially for the heart and skin. The juicy seeds inside are called arils and you can eat them raw, give them to salads or even make juice out of them.

But besides all the facts there is also something magical about this fruit.
It is not just tasty – it’s beautiful, at least for me 😃 The deep color, the glossy seeds, the strong outer shell... it’s like nature’s treasure chest.

So... what started as a quiet day in a hotel garden turned into a little discovery and a lovely photo memory from Cyprus.

No, we used the buses on Malta few years ago.
We had bus station 100m from our hotel, we used bus also for transport from and to airport. You only have to choose the right side of the road for enter the bus. If you forgot they drive on the left, you could easy travel to opposite side ;)
