These photos were taken in a botanical garden. Until now, whenever I visited botanical gardens, I usually focused mostly on colorful flowers. Green plants somehow seemed less interesting to me, so I often just passed them by and looked for something more colorful to photograph.

This time I decided to give these plants a chance too and look at them a little closer. I started photographing leaves, their edges, veins and all those small structures that normally we probably don’t even notice. And I have to admit that I was quite surprised by the results. Some of these leaves turned out to be much more interesting than I expected, especially when photographed very close with a shallow depth of field.

Looking at these photos now, I actually regret that I ignored this kind of plants before. It turns out that green doesn’t have to be boring at all. Sometimes you just have to get a little closer to notice how much is actually happening there.
And of course, one small snail also managed to get into the series. 😄
