FOR FANS OF MILITARY AND TRANSPORT

This post is for everyone who loves military gear and all things related to transport.๐Ÿ™‚

As an international truck driver I travel across Europe and also around Poland. My routes often change, and sometimes I end up in places I have visited before. And that was the case this summer. I had to deliver the glass in Szczecin, a city in the northwest of Poland. I already knew the city a little because a few years ago I spent my vacation with my parents there. I remember walking along the river and exploring the buildings. Szczecin has the mix of Polish and German history and the port is still one of the biggest in the country. So when I saw I will be there again, I was happy to return.

And this time something happened unexpected. While walking near the harbor, I noticed a large grey ship docked at the port. At first I thought it was part of the Polish Navy, but when I got closer, I saw the name: Fโ€‘260 Braunschweig - a German Navy corvette. This ship is the lead vessel of the K130 Braunschweig-class, a group of five modern corvettes designed for coastal operations. Theyโ€™re smaller than destroyers or frigates โ€” around 89 meters long โ€” but they pack a lot of power. Theyโ€™re built with stealth features, special shapes and materials that make them harder to detect by radar. They also carry guided missiles, high-tech sensors, and systems for electronic warfare. The Braunschweig entered service in 2008 and usually operates in the Baltic and North Seas.

Germany doesnโ€™t have many of these ships so seeing one so close felt like pure luck. I didnโ€™t know it would be there. I just was in the right place at the right time. Being able to capture this ship from different angles was a moment of joy for me as a photographer and a traveller.

That weekend turned out to be much more than just work. Sometimes when you're driving across countries, you get tired, stuck in traffic, or just go from point A to B. But now and then life throws something at you that you didnโ€™t expect โ€” and it becomes a story worth sharing.

I prefer older ships. I visited the destroyer Blyskawica and the training ship Dar Pomorza in Gdynia, the cruiser Belfast in London, and the cruiser Aurora in St. Petersburg. It was interesting to walk around these ships. I recommend it.

Wow! What an amazing experience! โš“๐Ÿš›
You really have such an exciting job โ€” being able to travel across countries and unexpectedly find something as impressive as the F-260 Braunschweig is incredible! Your photos captured it beautifully, especially the angles near the harbor.

Itโ€™s inspiring how you turn every trip into a story worth sharing โ€” not just about work, but about the little adventures along the way. I can imagine the thrill of seeing a real Navy corvette up close!

Do you often come across military vehicles or ships during your routes? Iโ€™d love to see more of your travel finds! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ“ธ

Thanks a lot! ๐Ÿ˜Š
My job is definitely exciting โ€“ and right now, I canโ€™t imagine doing anything else.
One of the best things is drinking my morning coffee in a new place every day. Sometimes itโ€™s by the sea, sometimes in the mountains โ€“ I never really know!
I often donโ€™t have a plan. I never know where Iโ€™ll be tomorrow, what Iโ€™ll see, or if Iโ€™ll even have time to stop.
Thatโ€™s why I just take photos of anything that catches my eye while Iโ€™m on the road. Simple as that
