Christmas is almost here! This means cheer, laughter, giving of gifts (this part I love so much), visiting family and friends, and generally, merry making. I guess this is one part of the year that most people are excited about and always look forward to.

I always, always look forward to Christmas. Since when I was a child, it was all about merry making and of course, decorating the Christmas tree. When I see the tree is set up and sparkling with many lights from the tinsels, baubles, tree-topper and lights, I know the celebration has started.

These below are images of the ornaments I bought at the store.

Is there a proper time to set up the Christmas tree?

Some countries start to set up their trees as early as September! In my country, most homes wait until the month of December while some decorate a few days before Christmas.

I went shopping for some decorations sometime in November but couldn't take pictures of the outing because I took my children with me. It's not easy to go shopping at this time with two sons, believe me.

Then we decorated a few days ago and I thought, this might be a good time to share some pictures with you. I see many fine posts in communities like Photography Lovers, Pimmapple and Liketu and wish I could take such neat and perfect photos too. So I tried my best and came up with these images of some of the decorations before setting up the tree and after the tree was up as my first post in this community!

These images below are sections of the tree after decoration. I aimed for these angles because they looked enchanting

I do hope you like my pictures. After decorating, our tree looks perfect and shiny with so many lights. I made sure to buy more lights and baubles. I didn't put up all the baubles. I always touch up the decorations a few days before Christmas to add a new look to our home.

My sons are excited about the festive season and so is my husband even though he tries not to show it. Haha. I'm happy too with the decorations and it puts me in the Christmas mood.

Next item on my agenda for this weekend is buying some gifts and wrapping them. This activity I will have to do without my family's knowledge so it will be a surprise when they open their gifts.

I hope you are all having an amazing time preparing for the holidays. Have a merry one.

Thanks for reading!

You have made a splendid Christmas Tree, it reminds me of when I was little. This year I still have to do it, unfortunately many commitments.

Thanks, @stea90. 😃 There's still time to set up your tree and join in the merrymaking season. 😊
