Le Jour de armistice: conjuring up peace 3 tunes Tuesday style
What's up music lovers and peace worshipers!
I like to change the little trinkets on my alter from time to time according to what my wishes for the world are along with the ones in my personal life. I think much of the world needs a moment of peace to rest our minds, our souls, our bodies. In the meantime we can't do that but how about we conjure up little glimpses of it. Lately I went a little more metal than what probably some are comfortable with so lets musically restore the peace within ourselves with a dose of multiculturism to go with it, why not learn a thing or two about history we are observing today as an important holiday of remembrance for any Allied forces for liberation.
What can we conjure up for this post while we charmingly offend all traditions equally in a weird bowl of cultural stew until all my sacred books from various backgrounds shake themselves off the shelves in anger? While we ware looking for peace, lets ask the Prince of Peace directly! Dude, if you could conjure up some peace in the middle east, many ancestors said it's hard to rest in peace with all that knocking around up there. 2024 compared it to living in an apartment below a bowling alley. Isn't that your homeland? Maybe he's too ancient to understand English, lets try something more ancestral. Besides, I don't need to understand it to appreciate it's beauty...I cheat and put the English subtitles. Maybe we can conjure up more cool modern ancestral videos with English subtitles for us to follow along with. Oh where are you Prince of Peace?
In the link below is the source of the photo, I didn't want to make my own to send you on a treasure hunt as we remember the poppy and it's significance. Stemming from a WW1 poem strait from Canada that was forever engraved on our hearts as the years roll on with time. I wanted viewers to read up on it's history.

Now I said I wanted to include some tidbits about history relating to both world wars, I myself lit a few candles on my alter and went wiki deep diving to get an understanding of some very complex times humanity had to navigate thru in observance, naturally much of the different wiki articles remains scattered thru out the post, take a deep dive in breakdowns of estimates how many lives were lost in each categories and on the grand scheme of things collectively, some even broken down by countries. Observing remembrance day my way and I like to learn. Why not honor the day by dedicating my brain to it first stroke of midnight. I actually wanted to write this post last night but I got carried away reading stuff on wiki. Better late then never. A three tunes Tuesday post with @ablaze that will actually be on Tuesday! Miracles do happen.
What do the Catholics have to sing about all these shenanigans? Let them tell you from le Chateau de Versailles as we go back into negotiations history.

I had to get in my time machine and get back to 2024, From New York, that's where the UN council is isn't it? surely we can find peace there. What are they singing about in the streets of the Big Apple? Nope, looks like they are trying to conjure up a free world in their colorful streets too. Exorcising their voices nonetheless! FREE WORLD by NEW ROCK CITY took the words right out of my mouth. Let them shout it out for me. Hey, I call cultural appropriation, why do they look like frumpy Canadians like me? Aren't you guys suppose to look all rich and flashy down there? I mean monthly rent is like 6 months worth of salary. Oh yeah...I forgot, we got cousins down there...What's up ladies and gents of the everyday people! Very relatable from our snow throne in Canada.
All the photography in this post is obviously mine, and as usual music videos are courtesy of youtube roulette and free voices everywhere shouting out loud in style.
Oh why is there no peace King Solomon, where are you? Maybe the first song didn't make it there, it's pretty far both from Canada and 2024, Lets try the Father then, perhaps King David can sling shot something in that direction to point the way. From the same band and in Hebrew...I think? in the first song...you know, like father like son...They must like the same music after all almost being from the same long ago time period. Oh King David, I conjured up the streets of America in my living room, they are screaming for freedom there too, any idea where we might find it, I promise to let them know too if I find it. Let me Call my Son , the Prince of Peace and lets pray on it the 3 of us my child. By the way, why do you wear Satan for a shirt? - Long story...Long story. A good joke for another day. Lets pray...I don't speak Hebrew like the 2 of you tho. Don't worry about it, it works in English from Canada too.
The English prayer below may or may not match the words in the song, I just mix and match my way.

Now The Natives are the first people of Canada and it's first ancestors and also made many war time contributions of their own to contribute to the safety of our country and values. Surely they have wise council on the matters. This video is a family we came across at Lake Louise in Banff National Park during the EVERY CHILD MATTERS orange shirt campaign. They turned their ancestral message into quite a drumming symphony, how personal and special...made my snow throne melt faster than a popsicle in 35 degree (c) sun.
The second video is from someone else in a different orange shirt performance. Ok, the slogan is for a different matter entirely but EVERY CHILD DOES MATTER in this case and they are no strangers to genocide and it's aftermath that lingers for many generations yet found a way to put the emotions and resentment aside for a bigger cause. This is who their ancestors fought for in both world wars... For the rights of their children and grand children to sing and drum about the things and causes dear to them. What children learn today shapes the adults and rulers of nations to come tomorrow.
The photo below is from Elk Island National Park. The Buffalo is the ancestral guardian of Cree territory in creation stories and legends that surround both Alberta and Saskatchewan. Also what many ancestors fought for, the safety of the land that sustains our daily needs and ensures our prosperity so EVERYONE can fruitfully multiply.
May the fallen rest in peace on this somber day of remembrance, one where we can't remember where we came from. One where we forgot how to get along. One where we honored our resting ancestors from long ago that fought for peace by dropping bombs they do not understand on their resting place and ancestral homes. Our forefathers couldn't find it. Neither could our Grand-fathers or fathers. Neither can we. Perhaps the next generation will be more intelligent then the present and past. Until then, may the fighters for our freedom of current conjure up the strength and wisdom of their fallen Brothers and Forefathers to keep looking on the behalf of the citizens of the world until we find it. Until we can free the souls. Let the children be children. Go to school and play, not give youtube demos on what bomb holes look like thru their bedroom walls or what it does to their roof and security.
I somehow manage to hand this in at the stroke of midnight in Alberta remembrance day before it all turns into the pumpkin that got left out on the steps since Halloween. Like a 7 year old that missed the bus, ran too school and handed in a crumpled assignment full of sweaty sticky candy hands as I handed in my procrastinated effort to the teacher. **Sorry, don't mind, the dog chewed it but I pulled it from his mouth in time. You can still see the writing thru the slobber and bite marks tho! Alright, peace out.
Now I hope I offended every religion with grace with my Hodge podge of ancestral stew and exorcised your war demons equally.
Thank you for your service. xox
