That and many people have killed their beloved pets by putting them on vegan diets. Those big sharp teeth aren't plant munchers for a reason. They don't have the stomachs and gut flora to pull nutrients out of vegetation like omnivores and herbivores.

I definitely know she should be a hunter, and we're not keeping her captive. She's got plenty of fish and meat to eat next door at her former home, but for some reason she won't leave us. I've tried to tell her we have only vegan food, but she won't leave. On a serious note though, we only give her nibbles of our human food and try to keep her hungry. There's no doubt she can hunt, and she's proven that by delivering me lots of her kills. As long as she's getting some kills I'm sure she'll be healthy.
Apologies if you thought I was implying you were a bad pet keeper for being a vegan cat owner and just trying to be silly. I always let my cats try our food too. If they happened to like it then it was off to Google to see if it was safe. Very few creatures are hypercarnivores (Although cats are one of them) where 70% of their diet comes from predation or scavenging of meat. That still leaves 30% for new things to try!
No worries at all, we're on the same page my man. I've never really been much of a cat guy for reasons you've mentioned, would be conflicted to buy cat food while also being vegan. I think she's definitely getting enough protein, but if she were a bit older I'd trust her to manage her own diet. Because she's a young kitty, I just worry she doesn't know herself well enough yet to maintain a healthy balanced diet. So far so good, house is minus one gecko this morning.
Speaking of Geckos, People always mention that "house geckos are friends because they eat the bugs." But nobody really talks about the mess they leave behind after those bugs go in one end and out the other. Are they messy creatures or do they tend to defecate in one particular spot making for easy cleanup?
Sorry for late response, somehow I missed this comment. The geckos drop tic-tac turds with a white dot on the end. They can splatter on impact or bounce like a ball, and because we have an exposed timber frame roof with no ceiling, they chill in the rafters and rain turds from above.
I have taken gecko turds to the eye, directly into the mouth. They have no regard for where they drop turds, but often if they are on the wall the white dot kind of tapes the turd to the wall. When they're on the ceiling though, the turds always freefall. We just laugh when it happens, even mid-conversation a turd may fall into someone's hair without them noticing, and we do our best to keep a straight face.
