Ice Breaker Bay

An Estonian Ice Breaker and Research Vessel make port in Igloolik's Tutton Bay. Locals blame the ship on a lack of beluga while slaughtering 50 of the marine mammals in the area. Eyes roll.

Ice is forming up in the Arctic. To the surprise of nobody.

Some may find it strange that I purchased a DX lens for an FX body, but if you look at lists of Nikon lenses, this still ranks in the top 2-3 for macro lenses to own at a price even amateurs can afford!

What does an ice breaker have to do with the belugas??

Inuit say that the noises a large ship makes scares the marine mammals away. I'm sure this is true to a certain extent, but a plethora of large mammals live peacefully in harbors all over the world, so it's not the hard fact they think it is.

My guess is the reason Inuit see less belugas is because when they find a pod, they slaughter the entire fucking group. Brag about unborn babies pulled from the mother's womb, etc.
