(ENG-ESP) Enjoying our first Christmas lunch with the family

• Good morning dear friends, I wish you a happy beginning of the week... Before arriving to Margarita Island my daughter @veo10h had told me that she was planning to prepare hallacas and that she had already bought some ingredients for their preparation. Over the weekend we organized ourselves trying to plan the task that each one of us was going to carry out. I had many years without enjoying what it means to get together as a family to prepare this typical Venezuelan dish, since my mother was always in charge of organizing and making the hallacas, now because of her advanced age it is an impossible task to perform, but she advised us the steps we should follow.

• We all organized ourselves and began preparing the hallacas, although it is a quite laborious process, it was very fun since we all collaborated and organized ourselves very well. @lifeblue mom was in charge of tying the hallacas and getting the dough to have the ideal texture. I wanted to season the hallaca stew, but together we got the perfect point. I had a pleasant surprise, since my daughter had to go out to buy oil and onoto that was necessary to color the dough for the Christmas buns and when she got home she showed up with my great friend @sugarelys, it was a beautiful Surprise, my friend, knowing that I love desserts, brought me as a gift one of my favorite cakes, which is tres leches. We took advantage of listening to bagpipes while we finished tying and cooking all the hallacas and buns. I confess that we all ended up very tired, since there were many hours of work, but it was a very beautiful family moment, they are those unforgettable memories that last a lifetime.

• We really enjoyed our first Christmas dish, the truth is that we did a good job as a team, the texture of the dough was perfect and the salt level, even though we all had different opinions, was just right. I must admit that @lifeblue was right when he advised me to add enough capers, since that ingredient was what gave the Christmas flavor.

• Buenos días queridos amigos, les deseo un feliz comienzo de semana... Antes de llegar a la isla de Margarita mi hija @veo10h me había comentado que tenía planificado preparar hallacas y que ya había comprado algunos ingredientes para su preparación. El fin de semana nos organizamos tratando de planificar la tarea que cada una iba a llevar a cabo. Yo tenía muchos años sin disfrutar de lo que implica reunirse en familia para preparar éste plato típico venezolano, ya que mi madre fue la que siempre se encargó de organizar y realizar las hallacas, ahora por su edad avanzada es una tarea imposible de realizar, pero nos aconsejó los pasos que debíamos seguir.

• Entre todos nos organizamos y comenzamos con la preparación de las hallacas, a pesar de que es un proceso bastante laborioso, fue muy divertido ya que todos colaboramos y nos organizamos muy bien. La mamá de @lifeblue se encargó de amarrar las hallacas y de conseguir que la masa quedara con la textura ideal, yo quería sazonar el guiso de las hallacas, pero entre todas conseguimos el punto perfecto. Me llevé una grata sorpresa, ya que mi hija tuvo que salir a comprar aceite y onoto que era necesario para dar color a la masa de los bollitos de Navidad y al llegar a la casa se presentó con mi gran amiga @sugarelys, fue una hermosa sorpresa, mi amiga como sabe que adoro los postres me llevó de regalo una de mis tortas favoritas que es la tres leches. Aprovechamos de escuchar gaitas mientras terminábamos de amarrar y cocinar todas las hallacas y los bollos. Les confieso que todas terminamos muy cansadas, ya que fueron muchas horas de trabajo, pero fue un momento familiar muy hermoso, son esos recuerdos inolvidables que perduran para toda la vida.

• Disfrutamos mucho nuestro primer platillo navideño, la verdad que hicimos un buen trabajo en equipo, la textura de la masa quedó perfecta y el punto de sal a pesar de que todas teníamos opniones diferentes quedó en el punto ideal. Debo reconocer que @lifeblue tenía razón al aconsejarme que le colocara suficiente cantidad de alcaparras, ya que ese ingrediente era el que daba el sabor navideño.
