PhotoFeed Contest - Street Photography : Hotline Bling
I recently read a post about homelessness, stating that Taiwan has a very low rate. However, as a long-time foreign resident, I've observed numerous homeless individuals, especially near train stations, busy streets like Xinyi, and even in Ximending Shopping District, as shown in the photo above.
It's intriguing that I mostly encounter elderly homeless people, such as the man in the photo. I spotted him while riding a rented bike near Ximending on a windy and cold night. He sought shelter in an old phone booth, enjoying a snack and watching his mobile phone.
Across from the phone booth, he has a spot to sleep with a cardboard box on the ground. His stuff, including luggage, is set up neatly around that area.
And while I'm on my way home, this made me remember the song Hotling Bling.
Here is another photo of the famous street of Ximenting.
