Wat Phra That Doi Kaew, A temple and views on a hill in the countryside Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. This post I will take you to see a temple in my country again. This is the 105th temple my wife and I have visited and I want to share with everyone. This temple is called Wat Phra That Doi Kaew or local people call that Wat Huai Luk. Because this temple is in Huai Luk village. The people of Huai Luk Village are local Thai people who are Buddhists. Therefore, this temple is a place for religious ceremonies of the villagers.
Wat Phra That Doi Kaew was officially permitted to be established as a temple in AD 1938 or 81 years ago. Before the villagers on that time built this temple, the villagers found an old pagoda on the hill first, so the villagers built this temple together with monks from other temple. And the temple just received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in 2013 or 12 years ago.
Before reaching the temple, we had to through farms and the community areas of Huai Luk Village. Wat Phra That Doi Kaew area is on a hill. This temple has two areas, the first area is the lower area and the second area is the top of the hill. When we arrived at the temple, we saw a sign at the bottom of this hill. It is a simple temple sign with a picture of King Rama X of Thailand on the side. And the first entrance of temple, which has two lion statues and a simple steel arch.

But we went to the top of the hill, which is the second area of the temple first. You can drive to the top of the hill or walk up the stairs. On this hill is the courtyard with large trees and there is a pagoda. The pagoda has been renovated. This pagoda is not very large. And there are buddha images, lion statues and elephant statues around the pagoda.

There is a buddha image. This buddha image is a white buddha image in the attitude of subduing Mara, which looks very beautiful.

And there is also gold color statue with a many-tiered umbrella.

In addition, on this hill is also a viewpoint. You can enjoy the views and atmosphere of the villages and the farms in the countryside. Of course my wife and I enjoyed the views and atmosphere from this area. Looks beautiful and shady. It was very peaceful. We spent a long time enjoying the view and the atmosphere.

Then we drove to the first area which is below. Along the way, we enjoyed nature and farms too.

The first area is section containing the monks' living quarters and buildings for monks. Before reaching the bottom of the hill, we see section containing the monks' living quarters and buildings for monks. We thought we wouldn't go to this section. Because we don't want to disturb the monks.

When we reached the bottom of this hill again, we entered through the second entrance. This entrance has a simple steel arch and two lion statues similar to the first entrance.

Inside the first area there is only a buddha image hall (viharn) with the courtyard and trees. The section containing the monks' living quarters are located at the back of this buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is built and decorated in Lanna art style (Northern Art of Thailand). The entrance to this buddha image hall (viharn) is similar to other temples. There are two naga statues on the railing of the entrance stairs.

These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

🌏 Wat Phra That Doi Kaew is located in Mae Ngon Subdistrict, Fang District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

That's great that I know that there are some people who is same with my traveling principle. Because I believe that before you explore different country or place you need to explore your own place or country. 😍
