Wat Phra Nares, a small beautiful and peaceful temple on a mountain, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post I bring friends to a temple in Chiang Mai again. This is the 110th temple I've shared with everyone. My wife and I haven't been to the new temple for months. Our autistic son's behavior hasn't improved. The boy often harms himself. So we have limited free time when our son goes to school for children with special needs. This time we went to a temple in a district near our district. That is Chiang Dao District. We've visited many temples in this district, but there are also many new temples that we haven't visited yet. This time we visited Wat Phra Nares. The small temple on the mountain. There is no information about this temple. Even though I tried to find information. But I asked people at the temple, And I know is that this temple is important and related to King Naresuan, a king of Thailand from the past.

We started our journey from our district at almost 8 o'clock. Traveling on the main road (Highway 107). And the road winds over the plateau to Chiang Dao district. The atmosphere on the road, there was mist in the morning. The journey took us about 1 hour.

When we arrived at the mountain where the temple was located. There are two ways to get up to this temple. We can walk up the white staircase with white serpent statues on the railing or drive up the mountain. But we chose to drive up the mountain to the temple. There was no mist at that time.

The temple sign is below.

When we arrived at the temple, This temple has two areas. The first area is the courtyard. And there was a pagoda. which is now in ruins. This pagoda belonged to King Naresuan.

As we walked around, there were large trees. Looks shady and peaceful.

And there is a simple temple sign made of wood.

There are dogs in this area too. They are friendly and lovely.

The first area also have section containing the monks' living quarters. But I didn't take photos. Then my wife and I walked to the second area of this temple. Second area also have section containing the monks' living quarters. And in this area, we can see the white staircase with white serpent statues on the railing leading up to the temple.

The second area like the first, Looked shady with trees and was peaceful.

Another highlight of this temple is the buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is located in the second area. This buddha image hall (viharn) is surrounded by white walls. We have to walk up the white staircase with white serpent statues on the railing to the buddha image hall (viharn).

This buddha image hall (viharn) is beautiful and unique. Built and decorated in the original Lanna style. Looks different from temples in other regions. The staircase leading to the buddha image hall (viharn) has two white serpent statues on the railings. And there is statue of one of the mythological creatures in Thailand next to this staircase. This statue has the body of a turtle and the head of a dragon.

The interior of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated in Lanna style too. And decorated with oil paintings about Buddhist. A seated buddha image protected by the seven-headed naga is the main buddha image in this buddha image hall (viharn). The interior of the buddha image hall (viharn) and the main buddha image are very beautiful.

Although Wat Phra Nares is a small temple, But we enjoyed our visit to the temple this temple. And next time, if we have free time, we'll take friends to visit other temples. These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

🌏 Wat Phra Nares is located in Chiang Dao Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
