Wat Ban On, Rural temple on the mountain, Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Hello everyone. How are you today? I hope all is well with you and your family. In this post, I will take everyone to see another temple in my country. This temple is the 100th temple that I have visited and shared with everyone. This temple is called Wat Ban On. On this trip, I visited Wat Ban On with my wife. This temple is located in Ping Kong Subdistrict, Chiang Dao District. The temple is about 49 kilometers from our house, which is quite far. We go to Wat Ban On in the morning, after we sent the kids to school. We traveled on highway 107, Chiang Mai - Fang route, from our district and through Chai Prakan District first. And go to Chiang Dao District. I also took photos of the atmosphere of this trip.

Morning on highway 107 in the town, Chai Prakan District.

The road winds over the plateau in morning from Chai Prakan District to Chiang Dao District.

When we reached Ping Kong Subdistrict, we went on the rural road, the road winds over the plateau and the mountain road to Wat Ban On. This temple is on the mountain. Before reaching the temple, there is a community of hill tribe village. Most of the houses in the village are made of wood.

Through the community area is a road on the mountain with forest. And there is a wooden temple sign before reaching the temple.

When we arrived at Wat Ban On, we parked our car inside the temple. And it's time to walk and see this temple. The temple's buddha image hall (viharn) is near the pagoda.

The temple's pagoda is under construction. I think this pagoda is built similar to an ancient castle in Thailand. The base of the pagoda is a square hall. Inside the square hall are the buddha image.

The temple's buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks and spread cement on bricks like most temples we have visited. And decorated with gold color stucco patterns in the Lanna art style (original Northern Thai art). And the area in front of this buddha image hall (viharn) is also decorated with patterns of the 12 Thai zodiac. The entrance stairs are stairs with Naga statues. There is a low wall surrounding the buddha image hall (viharn) and two lion statues are on the pillars of the wall at the entrance too.

Inside there are many pavilions, both large and small pavilions : A large wooden pavilion at the side of the buddha image hall (viharn). Inside the wooden pavilion there is the buddha images. This wooden pavilion is used for religious and traditional ceremonies.

Another large pavilion. Inside another large pavilion, there is a wooden buddha image in the attitude of reclining buddha, A large wooden carved with stories about the goddess, A statue of the goddess made of wood. The wood used to make this goddess is more than 300 years old, Several small buddha images and the statues of rishi and monks. There are also other statues and a large gong.

A large gong.

Inside this temple there are also two small pavilions. And inside both pavilions there are statues of monks.

A standing buddha image covered with monk's robes. And the statues of the giants.

A small pond with a Naga statue and a goat statue.

Small building with buddha statue.

A bell tower is made of wood and section containing the monks' living quarters.

Finally other atmospheres in the temple. This temple has large trees and flowers. The area around the temple is also forest on the mountain.

These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Please forgive any errors/mistakes. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗
