Visit Wat Watthanaram, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.

Hello everyone. This post I share and take everyone to see the 4th temple of visiting temples in Mae Ai District. This temple is the last temple for that day's trip. This temple is called Wat Watthanaram. This temple is another small temple in the rural community of this district. And the temple is smaller than other temples that me and my wife visited.

Brief information about Wat Watthanaram. Wat Watthanaram or local villagers call this temple Wat Ban Luang. This temple is located in Ban Luang Village, Ban Luang Subdistrict, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai Province, Thailand.
Wat Watthanaram is a relatively old temple, more than 100 years old. There is no information on when this temple was built. But the temple received permission to establish a temple in year A.D. 1897 or 126 years ago. And Wat Watthanaram received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in year A.D. 1983 or 40 years ago.

The highlight of this temple, I think is the entrance arch to the temple. This entrance arch is made of wood and built in the original Lanna style. I think it looks classic and like turn back the clock over 100 years. There are two large lion statues on the pillars of the wall between the entrances too. And on the right side of the arch there is a name plate of temple made of wood.

Another highlight of this temple is the buddha image hall (viharn). The buddha image hall (viharn) of this temple is beautiful. The buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted brown, decorated with beautiful gold color stucco patterns. The roof of the buddha image hall (viharn) is also built in Lanna style.

On the railing of the stairs at the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) are two serpent statues, and both serpent statues are decorated with gold color stucco designs too.

Additionally, inside the temple there are large pavilions and small pavilions, monks' houses, spirit houses and monk statues.

And most of the area of ​​the temple is lawn and courtyard with trees.
