Visit Wat Thammikawat, Fang District, Chiang Mai, Thailand : A rural temple and views in my district.

Hello everyone.😊 1 - 2 years ago, my wife and I visited many temples in our district. And I think we visited all the temples in our district. But last month, while I was taking my wife for the drive around our district. To enjoy the scenery in the district. And we came across a temple, which we have never visited. This temple is called Wat Thammikawat.

Brief information about Wat Thammikawat. This temple is a common monastery in a rural community in Pong Nam Ron Subdistrict. Wat Thammikawat was built in AD 1923 or 101 years ago. And in AD 1965 or 59 years ago, this temple received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree.

Journey to the Wat Thammikawat. This temple is located in Pong Nam Ron Subdistrict, Fang District, Chiang Mai Province. We travel on rural roads. The along the way we see scenery of rural villages and the farms of local villagers. I also took some photos of the scenery to share with everyone.

The atmosphere of the local people's farm. Many farms are deserted because the rice was harvested long ago.

The atmosphere in a rural village before reaching the temple.

The atmosphere outside the temple.

When we arrived at the temple. The temple has two entrances. The first entrance has no arch. But there are two lion statues on the pillars of the wall between the entrance to the temple.

This entrance area on the right side has a sign of temple. The temple's sign is made of simple wood. And on the left side there is a large gold color buddha image. This buddha image is a buddha image in the attitude of subduing mara.

The second entrance to the temple, this entrance has an arch. The top of this arch is similar to the roof of the buddha image hall (viharn) or ordination hall (ubosot). Decorated with two standing buddha images and angel statues. But it looks old and hasn't been renovated yet.

When we walked inside the temple, we could see the buddha image hall (viharn) of temple. This buddha image hall (viharn) is beautiful and outstanding with stucco patterns and oil paintings.

And the 3-headed serpent statues on the railing of the buddha image hall (viharn) entrance makes this buddha image hall (viharn), Looks outstanding as well.

Additionally, around the buddha image hall (viharn) there are statues of the 12 Thai zodiac signs and statues of monks.

Another highlight of the temple is the stupa. This stupa is gold color and has a polygonal shape. The top is bell-shaped with chatra. And there are many small white stupas surrounding the large stupa. The all stupa is on a crimson foundation with gold color stucco designs.

In the outdoor courtyard there is also a building under construction.

And the inner outdoor courtyard of the temple is the section containing the monks' living quarters. This area has monk houses and buildings for monks.

These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to see and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

Wow! Enjoyed and fascinated, I always find your travels fascinating. The view of the roads leading to the temple was great, very empty and clean roads, I like this national road very much. But the description of the temple idols and the scenes are captured well. The architectural design of the new building is also great. thank you very much
