Hello everyone. This post, I want to share another temple with everyone. Most of my past posts have been about temples in rural communities. But this post, I am sharing a temple in a city community. This temple is called Wat Ma Ong Nok. Although this temple is located in the city community of Chiang Mai. But this temple is a small temple. And has beautiful and interesting sacred architecture. For this reason, I would like to take everyone to see this temple. Before I take everyone to see the atmosphere in this temple. Let me tell everyone a brief history about this temple first.

The brief history about Wat Ma Ong Nok.
Wat Ma Ong Nok is an old temple. There is no information on when the temple was built. But the temple was built before AD 1941 or before 83 years ago. And this temple used to be an abandoned temple. Local peoples call Ban Dong Pa Lan. Now the temple was renovated until AD 1987 or about 37 years ago, this temple was therefore allowed to be established as a temple. And the temple just received royal granting of the land to a particular temple by announcing in royal decree in AD 1999 or 25 years ago.

*Interesting highlights of the temple.

First highlight : the ordination hall (ubosot).
This ordination hall (ubosot) is made of wood painted brown and decorated with gold color patterns. The foundation of the ordination hall (ubosot) is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted white. The interesting of this ordination hall (ubosot) is the uniqueness of the original Lanna style (Traditions, arts and culture of the original northern of Thailand.), which is outstanding and beautiful. The entrance stairs of the ordination hall (ubosot) is a serpent stairs.

Second highlight : buddha image hall (viharn).
This buddha image hall (viharn) is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted white. The decoration of this buddha image hall (viharn), decorated with gold color stucco designs on the front, windows and doors of the buddha image hall (viharn). Additionally, the front of the buddha image hall (viharn) is decorated with buddhist oil paintings too. And the stairs to the entrance to the buddha image hall (viharn) are serpent stairs like the ordination hall (ubosot).

Other atmosphere in the temple.

This temple does not have an entrance arch. The entrance only had an open iron door and two lion statues on the wall pillars between the entrances.

Stupa : The stupa is made of bricks plastered with cement and painted gold color. The shape of the stupa is polygonal and the top is bell-shaped with Chatra.

Outdoor courtyard in the temple with many trees. And the outdoor courtyard also has statues of monks and buddha images.
