Story of me and my family part 132 : Visited a temple of the Tai Yai people in my district with my family, Enjoyed paper lanterns, Tai Yai style architecture and sculptures.
Hello everyone. Three days ago, me, my wife and granddaughter had the opportunity to go to the temple of Tai Yai people in our district. We read information on the Facebook of the community in our district that this temple would hold a traditional event of Tai Yai people. And my wife and I looked at photos on Facebook that the temple was decorated with many paper lanterns. So we wanted to take our granddaughter to see the beautiful of many paper lanterns. This tradition is called the Poy Oh Wa tradition. Which is the End of Buddhist Lent Day tradition of the Tai Yai people in northern Thailand. This traditional event is held at night. But we are not convenient to joined and see the traditional event at night. So we see and made merit at the temple and paper lanterns in the morning. So we visited and made merit at the temple in the morning to see temple and paper lanterns.
Many paper lanterns decorate on the lawn in front of the buddha image hall (viharn) of temple. The many colorful paper lanterns looked beautiful and created excitement for our granddaughter. The little girls looked enjoy and happy with these paper lanterns. It took us several minutes to enjoy the paper lanterns on the lawn that day. Unfortunately, we don't get to see these paper lanterns at night. It will be very beautiful. Next year if we have the opportunity to join in this tradition at night. I will share these beautiful paper lanterns again.
This temple has a large buddha image hall (viharn). This buddha image hall (viharn) is built in the Tai Yai style with a unique identity. This buddha image hall (viharn) is a two-story buddha image hall (viharn), but we can only enter the 2nd floor.
The 2nd floor of the buddha image hall (viharn), on the wall there are many paintings related to the traditions and religion of the Tai Yai people.
The 2nd floor balcony can see the view below. And there are large gong and bells.
Inside the 2nd floor of the buddha image hall (viharn), there are three beautiful buddha statues, Especially the main buddha statue, which is made in the Tai Yai style. In this area, we can make merit at the temple's donation box.
Additionally, within this temple there is a small ordination hall (ubosot), a pagoda, the monk's residence and other building which I'm not sure what building is. The ordination hall (ubosot) of the temple is built in a different style from the buddha image hall (viharn). This temple's pagoda is smaller than other temples. But I didn't take photos of the pagoda because there were shops area the pagoda that day.
The overall area of the temple is a wide courtyard and lawn and there are not many large trees.
These are the stories and photos I want to share for this post. Invite everyone to watch and enjoy my stories and photos. Have a great day. See you next time. Thank you for your support and visiting my post. Bye 🤗

Nice photos
The wide courtyard and the greenery of the surroundings attracted me more. How I wish I could visit a temple in a day of my life. Honestly, I wanted to visit Thailand since I have seen one that interested me to go there. And of course, your place is always amazing my dear friend.
