Participate a northern Thai tradition : The sermon on the story of Gautama Buddha as Vessantara or story of the last great incarnation of the Buddha (Mahachat Sermon).

Hello everyone. Today me, wife and wife's mother went to the temple in Ban Dong Pa Lan village. This village and temple near our village. Today at this temple there are buddhist rituals of the Lanna tradition. (Traditions of northern people in Thailand). The Lanna traditional ritual held at the temple today is the Mahachat Sermon. The highlight of this Lanna tradition is the sermon on the story of Gautama Buddha as Vessantara or story of the last great incarnation of the Buddha. Which buddhists consider to be a great sermon. So today many buddhists from many villages join this tradition at this temple.

The atmosphere inside the traditional festival today has 13 tents in the temple courtyard. Inside the 13 tents, there are decorations for religious ceremonies involving the sermon of the story of Gautama Buddha as Vessantara or story of the last great incarnation of the Buddha. I took everyone to see the inside of the tent first. Some tents had many people. So I couldn't take photos of some tents. Take a look and enjoy.

The temple courtyard also has a stage for the opening ceremony. And around 9:00 a.m. the opening ceremony began. Buddhists who participate in this traditional ceremony, mostly wear white clothing.

There is also a show of traditional Thai music.

Additionally, there is a large main tent for religious ceremonies. The monks will sermon in this main tent, Upon completion of the opening ceremony.
