FREEDOM MONUMENT (SHIPKA ) 🇧🇬

DON'T MISS THIS EXPERIENCE ⚠️ Hello everyone on Hive. Today I want to be active again and show you an extremely emblematic place for Bulgaria and every Bulgarian. This place is called Shipka peak 🇧🇬

This place is called Shipka peak 🇧🇬 It was at this place on this peak 145 years ago in 1877 and 1878 during the Russo-Turkish war that a battle was fought for the liberation of Bulgaria from Turkish slavery, under which we were then for more than 500 years. Nowadays, in this place we celebrate our liberation on March 3, the Shipka monument (perhaps the most emblematic monument of Bulgarian freedom) is erected there, a symbol of the heroes who gave their lives for our freedom.

Every year on March 3, thousands of people from all over the country gather at the Shipka peak, who climb all 999 steps to proudly wave the Bulgarian flag and together pay tribute to the heroes who died for the freedom of Bulgaria 🇧🇬🙏 Shipka is a peak in Stara Planina ( Bulgaria) located to the east of the Shipchen pass.

Buzludzha Monument

This peak symbolizes the Bulgarian heroism and the strong will of the Bulgarian militia who, together with the Russian soldiers, fought for Bulgaria's freedom from Ottoman slavery. The Freedom Monument was built in 1934. The monument can be reached in two ways - by road and by climbing the 999 steps I told you about.

The monument was built from donations collected by the entire Bulgarian people. The monument itself resembles a medieval Bulgarian fortress and can be spotted from miles away.
When you are right at the top and stand proudly next to it, enormous beauty is revealed all around you as far as the eye can see on all sides, you see mountains like waves, high peaks, blue sky and endless Bulgarian beauty until your breath stops...

A view more than beautiful more of breathtaking... unique natural beauty like no other... Above the entrance to the monument is a large bronze lion (symbolizing Bulgarian strength) on the other three sides are written in large letters the names of Shipka, Sheynovo and Stara Zagora - these are were the places where the biggest battles were fought in the defense of the pass.
🙏 You can enter the monument itself, every year it is visited by thousands of Bulgarian and foreign visitors, also year-round school trips are organized for students from all over the country.

Inside the monument on the ground floor is a large sarcophagus resting on four reclining lions. In the sarcophagus are laid the bones and mortal remains of the Bulgarian soldiers and militiamen who lost their lives for the freedom of Bulgaria in the Russian-Turkish war. On the remaining seven floors, there are weapons, clothes and personal belongings of the soldiers and militiamen who died in the war. Cards, magnets and all kinds of souvenirs with the appearance and shape or photos of Shipka are sold for anyone who wants.... As a true Bulgarian, I am very proud of this place and have visited it many times.

However, this time was more special than the others because I was not with my classmates or friends, but with my family (with my mother @sunshine777 and our little princess Valeria.) We left early in the morning from my hometown of Veliko Tarnovo (Bulgaria), which is located on about 120 kilometers from the town of Kazanlak, the nearest town to Mount Shipka. We left early because the drive was long but very exciting towards the end our little girl like any child got tired of standing in the car and couldn't wait to arrive. The road to the very top is littered with countless turns, literally turn after turn until you reach the top.

After countless turns, we finally reached the top and saw the monument standing proudly at the top. Since we were with a small child who is unable to climb 999 steps, we decided that the best way to get to the monument itself is by car on the highway. The steps we had to climb were 120/150 which were not a problem even though the weather was quite warm. After all, it was the month of June 🤗😁 And so we are already at the top of Shipka and we are all stunned by the view - a unique beauty like no other. Of course, I immediately start taking photo after photo, I just can't stop.... Everywhere I turned I saw this most beautiful Bulgarian land for which our heroes gave their lives! Stara Planina, the green carpets and the silky blue sky. From there you can see Mount Buzludja and Monumento Buzludja, which I will tell you about in one of my other posts. Even on this hot day, there was no lack of patriots in Shipka, as well as many tourists. There are legends, poems and songs about this place. Something that I know from history and left a memory for a lifetime, how the Bulgarian soldiers, after they ran out of ammunition and had nothing to defend the peak until reinforcements arrived, began to throw the bodies of their dead comrades at the advancing enemy formations. Here I will also leave a link with a video I made and uploaded to the 3speak.tv platform to make your experience even more realistic.

If you are ever passing through or near my country, this is a must-see tourist destination. I hope you liked it and if so, so you don't get sick of my stories, please follow me⚠️ Thank you for stopping by my post today. Namaste⚠️ 🤗🙏🤍💚❤️🇧🇬
