The Colourful World Around Us

I took some colourful photos. The colours were so vivid and captivating. Everywhere I look, I find bursts of colour waiting to be captured from the soft pastels of early morning skies to the vibrant tones of garden flowers and market produce. The world around me is alive with beauty.

Through my photography, I strive to capture these everyday moments. I mostly take photos of nature, but sometimes I enjoy photographing small, human-made elements that blend with nature. On a recent grocery shopping trip, I took photos in the store and discovered a small, colourful world there.

This bouquet caught my eye as soon as I entered the store. The light blue, green, orange, pink, purple, and yellow flowers were so vivid. I especially liked the light blue ones with white accents. They looked as if someone had painted them.

Bouquet culture began as a way to express emotions, celebrate important events, and connect with nature. As I researched the origin of bouquets, I found some interesting information. In ancient times, flowers held symbolic meanings, and during the Victorian era, people used bouquets to send secret messages. Over time, giving and arranging flowers became a tradition rooted in beauty, communication, and ceremony.

I enjoy giving small bouquets to family, friends, or anyone who is celebrating. However, to be honest, I prefer seeing wildflowers in the field. I don’t feel entirely comfortable with constantly cutting flowers. Still, I believe the culture of giving small bouquets is a lovely gesture.

My grandmother had a beautiful garden at home and possessed deep knowledge of flowers. She no longer tends the garden, and my mother has taken over its care. She’s doing a wonderful job. She often sends me seasonal flowers. I also have my own garden, and sometimes I share my flower photos with her. The flowers in my garden are much wilder compared to hers.

At my mother’s house, she regularly decorates the altar with fresh, beautiful flowers. In Buddhism, it is believed that ancestors are drawn to fresh flowers. The flowers offered in Buddhist rituals carry symbolic meanings, representing the Buddha’s compassion and patience. Placing flowers on a household altar or grave is a way to express prayers and gratitude to the Buddha in a tangible form. It is considered one of the “three main offerings” in Buddhism and plays an important role in Buddhist practice.

Suddenly, here’s a photo of lemons! I also love photographing fruit. Fruit makes such a beautiful subject in photography.

身近にある色とりどりの世界

カラフルな写真を撮りました。とても色鮮やかで惹かれます。あたりを見回せば、そこらじゅうに色が散りばめられています。朝の空のやわらかな色合い、庭の花々や市場の商品など、すべてがシャッターチャンスです。身の周りにはきれいなものがたくさん溢れているように感じます。

こうした何気ない日常の写真を撮りたいと思っています。普段は自然の写真を撮ることが多いですが、ときどきこうして人によって手を加えられた自然の写真を撮ることもあります。食品の買い出しに出かけたとき、店内で見かけたちょっとしたカラフルな世界を写真におさめました。

店に入ってすぐのところにある、このブーケに目を奪われました。水色、緑、オレンジ、ピンク、紫と黄色の花が色鮮やかです。特に、水色に白が混ざった花はアクセントになっていていい感じです。まるで誰かが色を塗ったかのような、鮮明な色でした。

ブーケの文化は感情を表現したり、大切な行事をお祝いしたり、自然とつながる中で生み出された文化です。ブーケの発祥について調べてみると、面白いことがわかります。昔の人たちにとって、花は象徴的な意味を持ち、ヴィクトリア朝時代には、人々はブーケに秘められたメッセージを送り合っていたとのこと。時を経て、花を贈ったりアレンジしたりすることは、美、コミュニケーション、儀式などに根差した伝統になったのだそうです。

家族、友人やお祝い事をしている方に、小さなブーケを送るのは楽しいです。しかし、本音を言うと、野原に咲いている花はそのままにしておきたい派です。常に花を切るのはあまり好きではありません。それでも、小さなブーケの贈り物をすることは素敵なことだと思います。

祖母の庭はとても美しく、彼女の花の知識はとても豊富でした。もう祖母が直接庭の手入れをすることはありませんが、私の母へと受け継がれました。母もまたとても上手に庭の手入れをしています。よく、庭の花の写真を送ってきてくれます。私も庭の手入れをするので、ときどきこちらからも花の写真を送ります。私の庭の花は、手入れをするというより、ワイルドに咲き乱れています。

母は仏壇に定期的に新鮮な花を飾ります。先祖が花に集まってくると信じられているのですよね。仏壇にお供えする花には、仏様の慈愛や忍耐を象徴する意味が込められているのだそうです。そして、 仏壇やお墓に花を供えるという行為は、仏様への祈りや感謝を具体的な形にするものだそうで、「仏様の三大供養」と呼ばれる供養品のひとつとして重要な役割を果たしているそうです。

そして、いきなりのレモンの写真です！くだものの写真を撮るのも好きです。くだものの写真はとても綺麗ですね。
