My Previous Dog's Memorial Birthday

My previous dog's birthday was March the 14th. In Japan, March 14th is a kind of special day. As you may know, Japanese Valentine's Day differs slightly from Western or European styles. People exchange chocolate for someone special in Japan. Then, one month later, people who received the chocolate gift will give a thank-you gift on the 14th of March, called 'White Day.' Usually, people give some white sweets like cookies, white chocolate, marshmallows, etc.

My previous dog was a French Bulldog, and her breed was pied. She was a very tiny white and black dog. Her name was Chap. My husband gave her the nickname 'Donkey Pegasus.' She was a tiny but tough Frenchie. She liked to play rough. She also liked to meet bigger animals. We went to many places together.

She lived until she was 13. Thirteen years old for a French Bulldog is pretty good. She was my angel dog. I liked to carry her when she started getting old. She was around 8-9 kg. She was easy to carry around.

I was checking her photos on her memorial birthday yesterday. I found many of her photos. She always looked happy and relaxed in the photos. I wish she could meet my current dog, but I believe she selected my current dog for us from the sky. She selected a way bigger dog for us because her dream was counter-surfing and checking our food. I will share some of her memory photos. By the way, the first photo is my icon photo when she met a donkey near our house.

This is one of my favourite photos of her. She really liked to hang out outside on the comfortable chair like this. I made her a relaxing mini paradise setup like this in early summer. She was alert to notice sounds, motions, and more. She really liked watching people like this.

She didn't like swimming, but she liked going to the beach. She was so happy to explore nature around her.

She was happy riding in the car. She really enjoyed travelling with us and went to many places.

Dandelions were one of her favourite flowers. Actually, she liked to eat them. Yellow was one of her favourite colours. She really enjoyed playing with nature.

"What do you see?"

She always enjoyed watching something from the window.

She also enjoyed visiting cool stores with us. I miss having her with us. I still hear the sound of her dog tags tinkling, 'Tinkle, Tinkle,' and her walking sounds, 'Clickity-Clack, Clickity-Clack' in my mind.

以前飼っていた犬の思い出の誕生日

私が以前飼っていた犬の誕生日は３月１４日でした。日本では３月１４日はちょっとしたイベントの日です。日本のバレンタインデーは欧米のそれとは違って特別な人たちにチョコレートをあげたり交換したりしますね。１ヶ月後の３月１４日は「ホワイトデー」で、たいていクッキー、ホワイトチョコ、マシュマロなどの白いお菓子をお返しとして贈ります。

私の飼っていたフレンチブルドックはパイドでした。小さな白黒の犬で、名前はチャップ。主人が「ドンキーペガサス」というニックネームをつけてくれました。とても体の小さいフレンチブルでしたが、タフでした。けっこう激しい遊びが好きでした。自分より随分と体の大きな動物に合うのが好きでした。いろんな場所にいっしょに出かけたものです。

１３歳まで頑張って生きてくれました。フレンチブルドッグで１３年間生きたというのはかなり大往生でした。たくさんある写真の中の彼女はいつも楽しそうでリラックスしています。今飼っている犬に会わせてあげたかったです。でも、今の犬を空から選んでくれたのは彼女だと思うのです。彼女は自分が小さくてできなかった分、あえて体の大きな今の犬を選んでカウンターの上にある食べ物を思う存分覗ける夢を叶えたような気がしてなりません。それでは彼女の写真をいくつかお見せします。ちなみにいちばん初めの写真は私のアイコンの写真です。近所のロバといっしょに撮った写真です。

これは私の好きなチャップの写真です。彼女はこうして外に出て心地よい椅子の上でくつろぐのが大好きでした。初夏にはこんな感じでミニパラダイスを作ってあげました。彼女は音や動きに敏感で、人を眺めるのが大好きでした。

泳ぐのが好きではなかったのですがビーチに行くのは大好きでした。自然をこうして探検して歩くのが楽しかったようです。

車でお出かけするのも大好きでした。みんなでいっしょに色々なところに出かけました。

たんぽぽは彼女のお気に入りの花でした。実はたんぽぽをよくむしゃむしゃと食べていました。黄色はチャップの色でした。自然と戯れるのがとても好きな犬でした。

「何が見えるのかな？」

こうして窓の外をいつも見て楽しんでいました。

こんなふうにかっこいいお店に行くのも好きでした。懐かしいです。彼女のドックタグの「チリンチリン」という音や、歩く時の「カチャカチャ」という音が心の中にいつまでも響いています。
