My Dog In Sunshine

Spring has finally come, but I heard that we will have snow again today... I really enjoy feeling the sun in spring, and so does my dog. He loves to run outside and sit for a while. He also enjoys basking in the evening sunshine during sunset. He looks very happy and calm in the sunshine.

I appreciate the sunshine all the time because I can't get enough of it during wintertime. Winters are very tough and long here. I am always thankful for warm sunshine, just as I am for moonlight.

When my dog, Dude, notices that it's a sunny day, he waits to go outside. As I stand up and reach the front door, he comes with me. As soon as I open the door, he runs outside to sit on the deck and sunbathe by himself. He looks very happy.

He sleeps very well in the sunshine on his favourite mat. He doesn't want to move until the sunset has totally disappeared.

Oh, he's awake. I guess he is hungry. His eyes are hinting at me.

After eating his dinner, he went back to his spot. He can stay there for a while because we still have the sunshine from the west.

After his nap, he suddenly wakes up at night. He is expecting his night puzzle (a snack with his toy bone). Sometimes, I find myself feeling jealous of his lifestyle. He knows what he wants to do very clearly. If he can't stick to his routine, he hints to me a lot until I give in. I try not to let him lead me because I don't want my pet to become bossy. However, his hinting style is quite persistent.

I've never had a male dog before, except for him. In my experience, my previous female dogs were very independent, almost like cats. They didn't depend on me as much as Dude does. I wonder if that's because he is a male dog or not. Anyway, he is my pretty buddy.

陽だまりの中の犬

やっと春がきましたが、また今日は雪予報が出ています…。私は犬といっしょに春の日差しを楽しんでいます。犬は外に出て一人で日向ぼっこをするのが好きです。家の中でも西日の陽だまりの中に座って日光を浴びるのが好きです。日光浴をしている彼はとても穏やかで嬉しそうです。

長い冬の間はなかなか陽の光を浴びることができないので、太陽が出るとかなり感謝の気持ちが芽生えます。この地域の冬は長くて厳しいので、太陽の光と月の光はありがたいです。

私の犬ドュードは、太陽が出ていることに気がつくとすぐに外に出ることを待ちきれずに催促してきます。私が玄関のドアに手をかけると、後をついてきます。ドアを開けた途端、彼は外に駆け出していって、一人でデッキに座ります。嬉しそうですね。

お気に入りのマットの上で太陽を浴びて嬉しそうに眠っています。太陽が沈むまで動きたくない様子です。

おっ、起きましたね。お腹が空いたのでしょう。目で訴えています。

夜ご飯を食べた後、またお気に入りの場所に戻りました。西日が完全に沈むまでこの場所を動きません。

お昼寝の後、夜に突然目がぱっちり覚める時があります。おそらく夜のおやつ（おもちゃの骨にお菓子を入れた）パズルを待っているのでしょう。ときどき、彼の生活を羨ましく思うことがあります。彼は自分が何が欲しいのかをはっきりとわかっています。日々のルーティーンがきちんと進まないときは、叶うまでヒントを与えてきます。ペットに主導権を握られたくはないので彼にリードさせないようにしていますが、彼のヒントスタイルはかなりしつこいです。

これまでにオスの犬を飼ったことがないので比べることができません。過去の経験から言うと、メスの犬はとても自立していてわりと猫っぽいような気がします。彼女たちはドュードのように人間にベッタリではなかったです。これはオスだからなのか、彼だからなのかはわかりません。でも、ドュードは私のかわいいバディーです。
