Morning Beach Walk When the Tide Is Out

I had a morning off the other day, which was a rare situation for both my husband and me. Of course, my dog could sense that something special was happening. He predicted he might get to go somewhere nicer than our usual morning walk. He could feel the different energy from us. We planned to go to the beach if the weather was okay. It was cloudy, but the temperature was warm, even though it had been cool at our place in the mountains.

As soon as we arrived at the beach after a 15-minute drive, the temperature shifted. It became warm and humid. Usually, this beach is full of water right up to the parking lot, but when the tide is out, we can walk freely on the sandy shore.

Look at this beautiful green sea grass. I love the contrast between the green grass, the reddish muddy ocean, and the sky.

This piece of driftwood is on the rock. Probably pushed up here by the waves.

These birds were so pretty. They were making lovely sounds when we arrived. I wanted to get closer, but when they noticed my dog, they flew away. Their formation looked beautiful as they moved through the air. They came back quickly once they felt safe again.

My dog looks so calm, excited, and refreshed. I like the line that runs through the middle of the beach. It looks like chocolate.

He’s so brave, checking out the cliff. The layers of rock are amazing, like a slice of history. This area is nearly 350 million years old. You can find many interesting fossils and stones that look like ancient tools.

Oh, look at the cliff! These are fresh landslides. Some trees look like they’ll fall soon. They’ll become driftwood one day.

Wow, this looks so cool. This sharp stone is stuck in the ground like a spear.

I think my dog is checking out the seagull.

It was so calming to hear the sound of the ocean. The gentle waves touched my bare feet. These stones even look like bitter chocolate.

I see the ocean and the cliff behind the driftwood.

Oh, I can see my dog from this side!

潮が引いている間に朝の海辺の散歩

午前中、主人も私も共に休みが重なるのはとても稀です。案の定、私の犬はなんとなく特別な日であることを察知していたようです。いつもの朝の散歩とは違って、遠出をするであろうことを予想している顔つきをしていました。おそらく、わたしたちの雰囲気からわかるのだろうと思います。天気が良ければビーチに行く計画をしていました。曇りでしたが、家がある山の中と比べると、海辺はかなり気温が暖かかったです。

１５分ほど車を走らせると、空気感がスッカリ変わりました。なま暖かくて湿気があります。通常は水位が駐車場ギリギリのところまで上がっているのですが、潮が引くと、砂場のビーチサイドを歩くことができます。

この美しい緑の水草をごらんください。緑の草と赤土の海と空のコントラストが素敵です。

岩のうえに流木がのっています。おそらく波がここまで運んできたのでしょう。

鳥たちがとてもかわいらしかったです。海に到着した時、きれいな鳴き声で鳴いている鳥たちに気がつきました。驚かさないようにそっと近づいたのですが、私の犬が近づくと逃げてしまいました。彼らが飛ぶ時のフォーメーションはとても美しいです。安全だとわかると、またすぐに戻ってきました。

私の犬はワクワクしながらも、落ち着いた様子で気分転換をしていました。砂の真ん中に入っているラインが面白いです。チョコレートのように見えてきます。

かなり勇ましいですね。怖がることなく崖の上に登っています。この地層から感じる歴史には圧巻です。おそらくおよそ３億５千年の歴史があるようです。興味深い化石や生活に役立ちそうな石がたくさんあります。

おお！崖が崩れています。木も、もう時期落ちてきそうです。そのうち流木になるのでしょう。

鋭い石が落ちてきて地面に刺さっています。これはかっこいい光景ですね。

私の犬はたぶんカモメを見ているのだと思います。

とても穏やかな海の音が聞こえてきます。優しい波が裸足の足をそっと撫でてくれました。この石も美味しそうなチョコレートに見えてきます。

この流木の間からは向こうに海が見えます。

反対から覗くと、私の犬がみえます！
