Sin City w/ Rachel!
What’s up, Hive! This is the first post I’ve made in a while. I’m telling you, everything I’m going through in my life right now, it feels like I’m taking two steps forward and one step back. I have overcome several insurmountable stressors these last six months so I’m proud of the progress I’ve made. This is one of the reasons I blog here on Hive. This will be a fossil record of my life and I can imagine reliving events and milestones through my posts and freewrites here on the blockchain. For now, I’m going to share some new photography that I did manage to get to while at @caffetto during the afternoon.
A couple of months ago I shared some work with a model from Arizona named Rachel. This is the last set of edits from our session together during Viva Las Vegas. She contacted me last night, but a couple of weeks before I flew out to LA. I had dates booked on the west coast, then I’d be driving to Vegas for the Viva shoots. She booked a hotel right on The Strip; a part of town I usually avoid at all costs, but she had a particular shot in her head that she wanted to get. The lights and fountains behind her did great a memorable backdrop to a very glam composition and as the client, I had to get that shot.
I was actually thrown into a flurry of stressful time management because I had a second shoot happening simultaneously in another hotel, also on The Strip. About a half a mile down, I had to leave in the middle of this session and photograph another client at sunset. About an hour or so later, I had to run back and finish this shoot with Rachel once the sun was down and we could capture the city lights as the backdrop. Fortunately, everyone was very understanding and I still managed to get great photos rom both shoots.
I’m really happy to have wrapped this session up. Honestly, I’m so far behind with client work. Like I mentioned at the top of the blog, my life has been so unregulated I’ve barely had the ability to get to some of these edits. I’ll have a little consistency for a week or two, then some new crisis emerges that disrupts everything. I’m hoping that tonight’s Hive post is the first a new routine I’m able to maintain. At this point, I’d give almost anything to have my normal life back. Just being creative, productive and satisfied with how I spend my time, energy and effort.
She does have a typical beauty standard body be she's a very unique person. She's very into metal and horror so it was great to spend time with her during this session. Thanks for the comment.
Yay! 🤗

Sometimes when all that stuff is going on, I find it better to just stay off from Hive. It doesn't happen too much for me, but even though it is something I love, it is also one of those things I know I can leave for a bit and it will still be there. I hope things get better for you soon.
True, @bozz. It's a balance between trying to make sure my basic needs are being met and also adhereing to a routine that gives me a sense of structure. Posting on Hive regularly is sort of a barometer of where I am in my life.
I can understand that. I find it thereputic at times just to write on Hive, so balance is definitely a good word.
