Sin City memories w/ Miki!

Hey, Hive! How are you tonight? I’m sitting with the shifting fates of the universe that seem to be sweeping the lives around me; myself included. Considering this has been an awful year, I’m welcoming all of it in my life. I had a chance to talk to @tarotbyfergus tonight. I’ll let him share the news on his own blog. I also talked with @lovejoy and made plans to get together Sunday night. @guthrie and his friend hung out the entire day. I took them to the science museum. I’ve been focusing on myself otherwise, trying to maintain what finally feels like some solid ground for the first time in a long time.

I wanted to share a few new photos from a shoot I did years ago. I made some time at @caffetto tonight and dug into the archives. This was 2021. The first Viva Las Vegas after COVID. Things were still weird. Masks were still everywhere, but Vegas was one of the few cities that hadn’t completely lost its mind. I reconnected with my friend Miki. We have shoot together for the better part of a decade almost every time I was in LA. I used to stay with her new Long Beach. We originally met in Minneapolis when she was still living in the midwest and our friendship scaled to the west coast.

We got in touch a few weeks before I arrived in Vegas and she booked my last available session for the Rockabilly Weekend. All of our work was in Los Angeles so having the opportunity to shoot together in Vegas was great. She had a stunning selection of latex and fetish wardrobe which was no surprise. She always did. We met at The Artisan Hotel which, by that point, had become a cornerstone of my career. It was features dozens of times in my book and even the release part for that title was held at the same hotel. The surroundings, decor and lighting was a perfect compliment to my style.

We ran through the place relatively quickly and a lot of that is because of our history of shooting together. She knows my style and how I get the best possible shots and compositions. I knew the location like the back of my hand and that was good because I had two more shoots stacked right on to of ours still to come. I got through them all […I somehow always do] and they did come out great. This was my first trip shooting with the Nikon Z6 II mirrorless. That camera has become my foundation since, especially shooting as much video as I do now. Thanks for reading.

Those are some cool shots! I like the first one where her pose repeats in the painting.
Nice colours as well!

I also have a question about the photography community and I see you are the admin of that community. I've been running a photography contest for a year or two now and have been running it from the ProofOfBrain community. Since the POB community isn't being maintained I am looking for another community to run the contest in and I thought about the Photography community.
The community states that there are no rules, but I do wanted to ask you first if you're OK with that.
