Picturesque pinup!

What’s up, Hive. Trying to get back on track with nightly blog posts. A lot has been happening. Kickboxing, multiple projects. I just received my Steam Deck after placing a deposit on it in February. That’ll be an upcoming Hive post all on it’s own. So far, I’ve only played God of War and Elden Ring, but mind is thoroughly blown with this hardware. Tonight, I went with @ghostfish to see Heilung, a band that’s been on my bucket list for quite a few years. I always accepted that if I did see them, it would have to be in Europe, and as fate would have it, they came to Minnesota this month. Videos soon to come!

I did manage to get some editing done this afternoon. I briefly pulled a chair up to my favorite table at @caffetto and willed myself to not play the Steam Deck and to get in to a a few edits from a shoot in June of this years. The model flew in from Los Angeles, which I’m always grateful for. It’s well documented how much I hate flying. This shoot was actually suppose to happen […like so many things in this world], in 2020. Of course, it was postponed several times, but this year, she was coming to Minneapolis for an event.

We made plans to make up our dark pinup session, and we did so in grandiose style. She booked one of the most extravagant rooms I’ve ever shot in at a high end bed and breakfast in the suburbs. We drove to the location together and while she prepared for the shoot, I reacquainted myself with this Victorian space I love so much. I’ve shot here many times, so I thought through some new pose and framing ideas. She was fantastic once the shoot began. She took great directions and we captured the shadows in the room.

This is the second round of edits from this shoot. I still have one more set to complete, so you can look forward to more soon. For tomorrow, I’ll be trying to force myself to sit and work. I’m being called back to the woods to forage for mushrooms during these last few weeks of warm weather. The temptation to spend far too much time with the Steam Deck is there as well, but I’ll incorporate that in to a proper Hive post so I can at least earn some post rewards while needing out over my new toy. For now, good night!

I appreciate the comment, @atyourservice! Over the years, I've gotten pretty good as directed poses like this. Many of my clients are first time models, so it's a good skill to have.

How did this slip past my radar. This is the first I have even heard of the Steamdeck. It is probably just as well actually. I have trouble drawing the line between not getting totally immersed in my gaming. I learned to let that addiction go early in my marriage :)

Oh, @bozz! This thing is incredible. I've gone through phases, even recently, where I broke out my custom firmware PSVita. This thing is like a PS5 in a handheld. I absolutely love it. The problem now is, where do I find the time to play it.

These are great, especially the first one, how the soft yellow light enhances her blond hair…and it's almost a cold pale light casted on her arm and leg…and the red hue of the walls and bed. That mixture of light and color is really nice.

@fijimermaid over the years, one of the things that I've really tried to incorporate in to my style is contrasting warm and cool available light sources, especially with arrangements with lamps and windows. I'm glad to see that came through and was picked up on. Thanks for the comment!
