New dark pinup work w/ Jaded Moon!

Hey, Hive! Thank you all for the warm welcome with my return to what will hopefully be regular blog posts. I’ve said before that it takes about a week for me to rewire my brain for a routine and that knife cuts both ways. If I blog every night for a week, I’m consistent and if I miss every night for a week, it’s consistent. I’m trying to make a commitment to nightly blogging. This is a tumultuous time in my life and it’s healthy for me to document my days, trials, achievements and defeats. It’s one of the reasons the idea of blogging on a blockchain appealed to me. One day I will want to come back and reread all of these Hive posts when I’m old.

For tonight, I have new photography to share from the last shoot I did before the world really went to shit. This was from the fall of 2023. Jaded Moon is a well known tattoo artist and model. We were introduced through our mutual friend Masha, a friend that I’ve shot with several times. Jaded was looking to return to modeling and book a session with me a few weeks earlier. As she explained the vibe and concept she had in mind, I thought my home in Minneapolis would be the most fitting. I prepared areas for the shoot when the evening arrived, we began the session in my living room with my signature candles for lighting.

Jaded was one of those people that as the shoot was happening, we instantly connected and became fast friends. We talked about some of the mutual hardships we were both facings in our personal lives […some may call this trauma bonding] and we established an immediate comfort while we moved throughout the rooms of my house. She is a fetish enthusiast and as such she was able to bring an array of dramatic outfits, lingerie and latex. At one point, we nearly had a catastrophe as her Catherine D’Lish robe touched the candle and went up in flames. Fortunately, she wasn’t hurt but it was a terrifying moments for both of us.

This is the second set of photos I’ve had a chance to edit of Jaded Moon. I’ll be finishing at least one more and then doing some extra edits since she’s been so patient while I’ve been trying to get my life together these last six months. I’m looking forward to sharing some new illustration I’ve been working on over the winter that I haven’t been able to post. Also, the weather is absolutely beautiful here in Minneapolis with an early spring. I’m looking forward to starting my garden and going mushroom foraging again with @ghostfish. Thanks for reading. Yikes! I can't even imagine how scary that would have been when it went up in flames! I was at a "fashion show" once and they had those rope lights on the runway. One end of them had a short and caught the valance on fire that was covering the underside of the stage. It was pretty crazy, but everyone was safe!

It's actually not the first time it's happened, @bozz. I was shooting in NYC once and a model's hair caught on fire from a candle!

Oh my! That is definitely scary! I've been alive long enough to remember the Michael Jackson hair on fire debacle!
