Multitasking w/ Rachel!

What’s up, Hive? Midnight, again. This is my usual time to start writing. My word average for the last 24 hours has been impressive. A friend of mine inspired a short story and I’ve spent the last four days manifesting it. Only 1,500 words over that timeframe, but it was done in a Lovecraftian baroque style which is painfully slow and arduous. I finished it and I’m really happy with it, but I felt depleted upon its completion. I realized I had a few photos already edited that I’ve been wanting to share for the last couple of nights so that motivated me to get a post on the blockchain before going to bed. Without further adieu, I have some new work to share.

As always, I had a ton of shoots during Viva Las Vegas. It isn’t uncommon to book more than 20 dark pinup sessions in less than two weeks between my LA and Vegas dates. I’d begun booking months earlier but as my travel dates approached, a couple of last minute clients inquired about being fit in to the schedule. One of those clients was Rachel. She would be coming from Arizona and had to make preparations for the Rockabilly Weekend. We managed to lock things down and land on the only date I still had available. A small window of only a few hours going back and forth between another shoot that would be happening after on The Strip.

Fortunately, Rachel was super cool and flexible because coordinating both shoots was more challenging than I expected. I had to shoot the first look during a 45 minute session with Rachel, then drive a half mile to another hotel to catch the golden hour sunset of the other shoot. From there, I drove back to Rachel and finished the sessions after the sundown with the lights of The Strip and fountains behind her. It all worked out. The ambiance in some of the evening shots are striking. You can feel the Vegas energy, even if you’ve never been there. We captured exactly what she was hoping to get when she described why she booked with me.

I have at least one more set coming from this shoot with Rachel. Now that my short story is finished, I’m going to make this post and concentrate on some illustration until I’m too tired to keep my eyes open. The next few days, I have some tall orders to fill. Job applications, commissions to wrap up, more photos to edit and closing in on finalizing the first @mirrorpool release next week. That’s right! We’re still doing NFT’s. I don’t know why. That ship may have sailed, but it’s symbolic of a commitment we began over a year ago. It’ll be great to see a new Dark Pinup set out in the world.

I haven't shared it anywhere and I might not. It's a bizarre occult, alchemy erotic story I wrote for a friend.
