Desert pinup photography w/ Delilah!

What’s up, Hive? I’m writing this through bloodshot eyes but motivated to end this day feeling good about my productivity. I started with a therapy appointment, got @guthrie to a friend’s house and spent a solid 8 hours at @caffetto. It’s rare I can get away for that long and even rarer that when I can, I’m in the right headspace to be both productive and creative. Today, it all aligned and I tore through a lot of work. Two illustration projects I’ve been working on, some job applications, writing and new dark pinup edits from my last trip to Viva Las Vegas. All of that, and a chance to catch up with some friends.

The new work is what I’d like to share tonight. While I was in Vegas, my friend Minxie […you’ll probably be seeing her in the next few days on a blog post], contacted me that she had a cool hotel room facing the west. We’d been trying to shoot together for years and this was our chance to finally collaborate. Once we set a time and date, she asked if I’d be willing to photograph her friend Delilah as well. I agreed, but I was stunned when I finally met her. She’s an absolute bombshell burlesque queen from New Orleans and her presence in front of the camera was incredible!

Our time was extremely brief. I was fitting this shoot in [with both models], between another session further down the Las Vegas Strip. I’d started the other shoot before the sun had set, then rushed to the Mirage Hotel for these two sessions. Once I was finished, I made my way back to the first hotel and wrapped up with the other model. Very stressful, but looking at these photos of Delilah, it didn’t show in the quality of the work and directing. The room was small but it was mostly about the floor to ceiling mirrored window.

I love the final photos I’m getting from this session with Delilah and there will be more to come. Tomorrow, I’m going back to @caffetto and I’ll try to finish a set with Minxie, then push through the rest of the illustration projects I have hanging over my head. I’m hoping the tide begins to turn in my favor. It’s been a really tough six months and I’m more than ready for some good fortune, inspiration and renewed purpose in life.
