Angels among us!

What’s up, Hive? I had a power down today and that tends to be my psychological line in the sand on post time. Hive has become a huge part of my life, income and wellness over the last 7 years and I see this platform as a symbiotic relationship; give and take. My posts, time and contributions are rewarded and it bothers me if I have a power down without meaningful blogs to reciprocate. That’s probably a little sentimental and a little weird, but it reflects many other aspects of my life. @caffetto, my friendships, etc. I show up for the people and places that’ve become the cornerstones of my life and they show up for me, often when I need them most.

Tonight, I do have new photography to share which makes me very happy. It’s been tough getting a routine down through the holidays. That’s made it hard to have @mirrorpool meetings, etc. I did get some time in at @caffetto today and during those hours I edited new shots of my friend Olivia from my last trip to LA in October. She and I shot together years ago. I think it was 2016, and we had always hoped to collaborate together again. We began the conversation just before COVID, and naturally, those plans were upended. This was a long overdue date for the two of us.

We met at the Clarke Gable estate in La Cañada. I’ve shot here hundreds of times over the last 10 years of my time on the west coast. It’s become a signature mood to my photography and is featured dozens of times through the pages of my book. This was the first time Olivia had seen the space and she was overwhelmed. She brought several wardrobe options and as a long time actress and creative talent, we fell into an effortless rhythm together creating dark, seductive images throughout the various rooms of the estate. It was one of those magical afternoons.

There are more photos coming from this shoot with Olivia. I can’t wait to get through them. The next few weeks I’m going to have to visit other shoots from the same trip. Honestly, I’ve changed lanes since about Thanksgiving focusing on NFTs, projects on the EOS blockchain and @mirrorpool and @neverwel milestones for the New Year, but we’ll be doing a City Of Angels NFT release on WAX, maybe just in time for a bull run, assuming this isn’t a trap. I’ll be finishing up a bunch of new edits from LA shoots for that set so expect more of Olivia shortly. Good night!

Don't worry about that, @stresskiller. Let the medium lead you. I learned from a documentary photographer and I tried doing what he did. I wasn't comfortable photographing people I didn't know and I moved towards portraiture, which was way more in line with what I wanted to shoot.
