| Hello dear Hiveians, I'm back again :).
Today I'd like to share our first experience attending a formal party in the Philippine: a wedding party. Well, actually it's a renewal wedding vow party after 10 years of marriage. Neverthless it's just the same like an actual wedding. We're invited by our new friends, a Filipino-Kenyan with 4 kids, who are presently our daughter's playmates in the neighbourhood. This is a late post, because the party has taken place couple months ago. However the hosts has requested all the guest to refrain from posting any photos or videos of the events online until they uploaded the finished result of professional wedding photos in their own social media. |

Heute möchte ich unsere erste Erfahrung mit einer formellen Feier auf den Philippinen teilen: einer Hochzeitsfeier. Um genauer zu sagen, handelt es sich um eine Feier zur Erneuerung des Ehegelübde nach 10 Jahren Ehe. Trotzdem ist es genauso wie eine richtige Hochzeit. Wir wurden von unseren neuen Freunden eingeladen, einem philippinisch-kenianischen Paar mit 4 Kindern, die derzeit die Spielkameraden unserer Tochter in der Nachbarschaft sind. Dies ist ein verspäteter Beitrag, da die Feier bereits vor ein paar Monaten stattgefunden hat. Die Gastgeber hatten jedoch alle Gäste gebeten, sich zurückzuhalten, Fotos oder Videos der Veranstaltung online zu posten, bis sie die fertigen professionellen Hochzeitsfotos auf ihren eigenen Social-Media-Kanälen veröffentlicht hatten. |
The female guests have to wear an african style outfit called "Kitenge" and the gentlemen should wear "Barong", the traditional shirt normally worn for formal occasion in the Philippine.
Unsere Tochter posiert vor der Loveseat des Paares. Die Veranstaltung fand am Taal-See in Talisay, Batangas, statt. Ich weiß nicht, ob es jemand von euch bemerkt hat, aber es gab einen Dresscode für die Gäste. Die weiblichen Gäste mussten ein afrikanisches Outfit namens Kitenge tragen, und die Herren sollten einen Barong anziehen, das traditionelle Hemd, das auf den Philippinen normalerweise zu formellen Anlässen getragen wird.

This is really interesting to me. I was born a Javanese, the biggest tribe in Indonesia. Our traditional wedding ritual also includes washing feet of the spouse. It means that a married couple should love, honor and respect each others.
Dies finde ich wirklich interessant. Ich bin als Javanerin geboren, dem größten Stamm in Indonesien. Unser traditionelles Hochzeitsritual beinhaltet ebenfalls das Waschen der Füße des Ehepartners. Es bedeutet, dass ein Ehepaar sich lieben, ehren und respektieren sollte.

For once, Dad joined a big celebration this time and even let me post his picture here. It was quite difficult to find his shirt size. He has very broad shoulders, like a boxer. That was the largest size available, and it was still quite tight. I could only find the shirt online, and it took a month for it to be delivered.
Ausnahmsweise nahm der Papa diesmal an einer großen Feier teil und erlaubte mir sogar, sein Bild hier zu posten 😉. Es war ziemlich schwierig, seine Hemdgröße zu finden. Er hat sehr breite Schultern wie ein Boxer. Das war die größte verfügbare Größe, und sie war trotzdem noch ziemlich eng. Ich konnte das Hemd nur online finden, und es hat einen Monat gedauert, bis es geliefert wurde.
Rev. Solomon, the groom, had even managed to get him to dance 😁.
Pastor Solomon, der Bräutigam, hatte es sogar geschafft, ihn zum Tanzen zu bringen 😁.

Finally, we’ll wrap up this post with the natural scenery at Taal Lake as the highlight.
The weather wasn’t particularly great. The wind was blowing strongly, and it drizzled a bit.

Das Wetter war nicht besonders gut. Der Wind wehte stark, und es nieselte ein wenig.

War für @jaki01 das Getanze oder gar die ganze Zeremonie zu viel? Zumindest lässt das letzte Foto in deinem Beitrag vermuten, dass er es König Ludwig II. gleichtat und Zuflucht im großen Wasser suchte. 😉😮
Ansonsten kann ich wohl davon ausgehen, dass es ein recht unterhaltsames Unterfangen war. Das mit dem typisch kenianischen Dresscode hatte sich aber scheinbar nicht bis in den letzten Winkel herumgesprochen. Die fotografierende Dame im braunen Minikleid und die Braut selbst fanden da wohl ganz eigene Interpretationen.
Sollte @jaki01 doch wieder auftauchen, dann stecke ihn rasch in trockene Jeans und T-Shirt und grüße ihn von mir.😊

Du hast es wieder gut getippt. Er hat versucht, für einige Weile die Flucht zu ergreifen 😁.
"Kitenge" Outfits sind für täglichen Bedarf etwas zu bunt und glamourös.
Für manche Gäste wäre es viel zu verschwenderisch einen Set von Kleidern zu kaufen, wenn wir sie wahrscheinlich nur einmal anziehen können.
Daher dürfen wir auch den afrikanischem Stil nur in einem von unserem ganzen Outfits anzuwenden. Zum Beispiel ein Accessoires wie der Turban, ein Schal, ein Rock, eine Bluse oder auch ein Kleidchen.
Die schöne Dame mit dem Minirock hat doch auch Kitenge-Outfit. Es ist zwar nicht bunt, aber das Design und die Muster sind noch typisch (Pfauenfeder).
Die Braut hat nur Kitenge für den Abend (Das 6. Bild).
Ich habe übrigens deinen schönen Gruß weitergeleitet. Der Herr wurde zum Glück nicht von irgendwelchen Wasserschlangen vom See verschluckt 😂.
Das Resort gehört übrigens einem Deutschen 😄.
Wir haben ihn aber noch nie getroffen, da er gerade verreist war. Ich kenne nur seine Freundin.

I didn't know it before I was there.
I thought the place was nice and it happens to belong to her good friend's fiancee, hence it's chosen :).
We just move in here last spring, so we haven't travel much just yet as the first priority would be to settle the important things like resident permit, tax number, home to stay, school etc etc LOL. And then since she's enrolled in school, we need to wait for school holidays before we can explore the new country :-D.
This is such a lovely wedding! I’ve never seen a wedding in the Philippines which is of different culture. It’s always been traditional weddings. So thank you for sharing these pictures and your wedding culture!
Yeah..it's a unique setting because the couple are from different countries, so they want to showcase both of their culture somehow.
It's also something very interesting to me, cos I'm foreigner there.
That sounds to be a unique and beautiful experience! It is wonderful that you can participate in such a beautiful celebration of love and commitment. Having playmates who are members of their own family is wonderful; your daughter's new friends look lovely. Also, no need to worry if it has been late that you posted this. Yes, we understand the wishes of the host of course. Especially since they are also influencer, so it's even more important for them :-D.
The flower girls and boy are their own children, so cute.
My daughter is especially fond of the youngest kid. She's 3 years old and my girl is 7, I suspect that she's seeing her as her little sister and that she needs to take care of her anyhow LOL.
Aw. That is very lovely indeed. Your daughter instinctively assuming the role of a big sister is very beautiful. Children create relationships in such a lovely manner. <3
Wonderful Wedding Party with the spectacular scenery of the lake! All decorations are excellent and the party is well managed. The dresscode for the guests both female and male are interesting, especially your little princess' dress is pretty beautiful with designs in bright colors.
The traditional wedding ritual is interesting. In Thailand, we do not wash the feet of the spouse, but some people may wash the feet of our parents on Songkran Day...
It seems that your little princess enjoys the party and the dancing. It's great to see your and your little's princess' sweet smile and the warm hug to her Daddy.

When you mentioned the Philippines, and I saw the picture, I thought it wasn't a Filipino wedding. But then you pointed out the Taal background and what looked like barongs. That made me realize there was probably a dress code. It looked like a lovely garden wedding. Sorry, but yes most of the families may request the guests not to post pictures until the official photographer's released their photos.
I understand that. They paid a lot for the photoshoot afterall 😊.

Gibt es in Tagaytay keinen Schneider, der ein Hemd genau auf die Maße schneidern kann ?
Sicher gibt es welche. Die Frage ist nur, ob es sich lohnt, einen Hemd anzufertigen, den du wahrscheinlich nur einmal anziehen würdest.
Hinzukommt, dass es wahrscheinlich nicht genug Zeit gäbe, um den Hemd rechtzeitig fertigbereit zu erhalten.
Also wenn Du einen Monat im Internet gesucht hast sollte es die Zeit geben.
Ich weiß, dass ich 2009 mit einer Reisegruppe auf Bali war und auf dem Rückflug hat ein Teil der Gruppe einen Stop-Over für 2½ Tage in Singapur gemacht. Das war genug Zeit um sich dort einen maßgeschneiderten Anzug machen zu lassen (ich habe es zwar nicht getan aber Andere).
Habe auch keine Ahnung was es auf den Philippinen kostet, aber z.B. habe ich vor Kurzem einen Bericht gesehen, dass man sich in Vietnam für ca. 40 Euro maßgeschneiderte Lederschuhe machen lassen kann.
