Working out through badminton

Just sharing a bit about my workout routine — I play badminton twice a week (every Monday and Wednesday after work). I really love it! It’s such a fun way to stay active and spend time with friends. Honestly, I used to think badminton looked easy, but once I started playing… wow, it really gets your heart pumping! So much running and fast moves — but that’s what makes it fun! 💪🏸😊

This is a snapshot of my evening workout routine. The first thing I do is head back to my room to change into my workout clothes. I also grab a towel, some water, and of course — my badminton racket 🏸

When I first started playing, I used my running shoes, which unfortunately led to a sprained ankle 😅 So I decided to invest in proper badminton shoes instead. I figured I’d be in this “badminton gang” with my work friends for years to come anyway — so why not, right? 😄

When I arrive at the badminton court, the first thing I do is warm up before playing.

Warming up is essential because I believe it helps improve workout performance, prepares the body’s systems, and reduces the risk of injury.

After warming up, there’s no way I’m skipping the fun part — playing badminton! 🏸 I usually play for about an hour and a half. It’s honestly so much fun and I get super sweaty every time! 😅💦

And here are some snapshots from my badminton session. I think exercising gives the body a sense of lightness that's hard to explain — it really helps me relax while engaging in the activity. It also helps improve coordination between the eyes, arms, and legs. I think it’s truly great, and I hope you all enjoy my post!
