Monomad // A Monochrome Evening
Hello friends,
These photos are my entry for the #monomad contest by @brumest and @monochromes.
The river flows, a ribbon of liquid shadow under the deepening twilight. In black and white, the world simplifies, stripping away the distractions of color to reveal the raw essence of form and light.

As the sun dips below the horizon, the water’s surface becomes a mirror, reflecting the silhouetted trees that stand sentinel along the banks. Their branches, stark and skeletal against the fading sky, tell tales of seasons past. The gentle curves of the riverbank, rendered in shades of grey, invite contemplation.

A lone figure might appear, a dark silhouette against the paler tones of the water, lost in thought or perhaps simply enjoying the quietude. Footprints, ephemeral marks in the damp earth, suggest a fleeting presence.

Even the air seems to hold its breath, the usual chatter of the day muted by the approaching night. The black and white palette amplifies the textures – the rough bark of the trees, the smooth flow of the water, the subtle undulations of the land.

It’s a scene of profound peace, where the absence of color allows the mind to truly see, to appreciate the quiet drama unfolding in shades of light and shadow at the riverside.
Every picture here was shot using my iPhone 13 Pro. I snapped over twenty images that evening. This collection is just the best of the whole set. I hope these favorites resonate with you, too.
