Red in the Jungle: A Portrait in Contrast

She remains still, but the forest breathes around her. She won the prize. This photo, the most representative of my new series taken in Havana's Almendares Park, fuses bold color with lush vegetation to tell a visual story of serene strength.

The Story Behind the Images

The sense of peace that our friend in red emanates in the heart of the Havana forest. More precisely, the crimson of her dress contrasts with the vibrant greens as she remains silent. There's no pressing need to shout for attention; the textures, the stone, the vegetation, the skin, speak of nature, resilience, elegance. It was much more than a shot; it was a moment, it was an environment. And it was also a portrait that I wanted to conceal in the landscape in the same way I wanted to present it. I ultimately decided that it would be the central image, the contrasts between calm and wildness.

Personal Reflection

Ella permanece quieta, pero el bosque respira a su alrededor. Ella ganó el premio. Esta foto, la más representativa de mi nueva serie tomada en el Parque Almendares de La Habana, fusiona un color audaz con la vegetación exuberante para contar una historia visual de fuerza serena.

La Historia Detrás de las Imágenes

La sensación de paz que nuestra amiga de rojo emana en el corazón del bosque habanero. Más precisamente, el carmesí de su vestido contrasta con los verdes vibrantes mientras ella permanece en silencio. No hay necesidad apremiante de llamar la atención a gritos; las texturas, la piedra, la vegetación, la piel, hablan de naturaleza, resistencia, elegancia. Fue mucho más que una toma; fue un momento, fue un entorno. Y fue también un retrato que quise ocultar en el paisaje de la misma manera que quise presentarlo. Finalmente decidí que sería la imagen central, los contrastes entre la calma y lo salvaje.

Reflexión Personal

Esta serie me recuerda cuán poderosa puede ser la simplicidad cuando dejamos que el entorno hable. Quise mostrar la elegancia y dignidad de la modelo en un entorno sereno y armonioso.
