NO FILTERS PLEASE

Firstly I'm not a picture fan, if you follow me, you will probably know that already, I'm camera shy when it comes to taking a single picture, but I can try out in group pictures (when I'm being persuaded to 😂). If it's not a passport or something to grow my business brand, count me out.

Although I love making my life events memorable, I force myself to take pictures on such occasions (for things I deem important). I could take pictures with family and very close friends, and I could also take pictures for pleasure (once in a blue moon 😂) But I avoid filters. Although I love quality, I could instead go for a studio picture, with the lights and everything to obviously bring out the quality, which of course I'm aware the photo editor will add a few filters to so they can sell their brand. I've only had to take a personal studio picture twice in my life, last year, which is the picture on my DP (The reason I use it every time hehe...) And yesterday after I finished a video shoot for an upcoming advert I'm working on. The personal one I took was so I could post it on my birthday and won't have to only rely on one studio picture. However, it will probably be next year before I will think about taking another lol...

I don't judge those that use filters, I try to understand why they do, especially for the ladies, I mean no one wants to look like what they are going through lol... But I also feel moderation is the key. I didn't even realize almost everyone around me was using filters until I got to read the hive learners prompt for week 70 episode 1, (you can read to know more about it here). It was while thinking about the prompt I realized the extent to which a lot of people add filters to the pictures they post on social media. If it's not Snapchat filters, they are using a mad photo editor or an AI editor. Probably because I see them every day, the reason I didn't notice.

I also remember a really funny experience I had with a friend that I hadn't seen in a very long time, I usually see her pictures on social media, where she was always looking fresh and expensive until I saw her in person and discovered she wasn't looking as she claimed to look on social media because, In reality, she was suffering lol. Again I feel there's no need for some people to use filters because it does the opposite to them, instead of enhancing their beauty, it reduces it (maybe they aren't using the right filters) I have a friend who I had to tell to stop adding filters to her pictures because they weren't looking good on her, the pictures she took without filters usually appear more beautiful than the ones she filtered... If she wasn't close to me, I'm not sure I would have told her, I mean who should be taking filter advice from someone who doesn't take pictures lol...
