It is a nutritious, low-calorie dish that pairs well with roti or your staple rice and dal. This bottle gourd curry is made using minimal spices, ensuring a low-calorie and comforting meal. Let's see how it's made. You will need the following ingredients to prepare it. It takes about 15 minutes to prepare, including 5 minutes for chopping and 10 minutes for cooking.

☘️- Small Bottle Gourd
☘️- Cumin Seeds (Jeera) - 1/2 teaspoon
☘️- Green Chilies - 4
☘️- Cumin Powder (Jeera Powder) - 1/2 teaspoon
☘️- Salt - as per taste
☘️- 2 Small Potatoes (Aloo)
☘️- Cooking Oil
☘️- Water

  1. Start by washing and peeling the bottle gourd, then cut it into large pieces. Similarly, chop the green chilies and potatoes.

  1. Soak the chopped potatoes in water to prevent them from darkening.

  2. Heat oil in a pan or pressure cooker. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.

  1. Add chopped bottle gourd, potatoes, green chilies, cumin powder, and salt according to taste. Mix well.

  1. Close the lid and let it cook on medium heat. If using a pressure cooker, give it 4-5 whistles.

open the lid and if needed, add a little tamarind water. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Your dish is now ready and can be enjoyed with parathas or rotis.
