Yes!!! (I love reading your thoughts, so many times they just speak right at some of mine, a beautiful connection:))
I am missing these "wondering how something works" too!
As with asking for directions. Meanwhile some people almost seem to get scared when I ask them something (directions) in the streets, I also do come a cross (mostly old people though) that ask me where I need to go, when I try to find the way by myself. But some of their directions are also terribly wrong, which I discover when I can help but double check😁

OMG asking for directions! It's almost taboo, now. Use your phone, you weirdo! I like asking for directions. Especially in other countries when I don't understand the language and they say like three words to me in English REALLY LOUD in case I'm also deaf. 🤣
I envy your sewing. I got really into it for a bit, it's so focused and meditative and full of learning and mistakes. But my machine is the kind of vintage that is just vintage, not functional. I didn't use patterns when it worked, though, just my curious brain.
😂
You could try by hand? (I mean it takes forever, and a lot of patience, but can be even more meditative) I must admit I haven't touched much sewing lately. Sometimes I wonder if it is just one "meditative" practice at the time for different times in life. Right now I feel very connected with cycling instead of sewing.
Stitching your life experiences into the roads that take you to them...
Yes! That makes the middle line of any road quite a poetic detail...:)
Oh, it does, it does!!
