Have a great weekend, everyone. I hope you have a wonderful time. I’m writing to you from this little corner of my home to tell you about an unfortunate incident that happened to me at Simón Bolívar Square in my city.

It turns out I went out for a walk with my cousin, as usual. And this time, we chose the downtown route. Since we had to get back home soon, and this route is short but worthwhile, we always walk down 5th Avenue, cross at the Civic Center, and then head back up 7th Avenue. As we were passing through the plaza, my cousin noticed a squirrel in the tree, so we approached it step by step so as not to scare it away.

What surprised us was that the squirrel wasn’t shy at all. The man who rents cell phones under that tree has trained it. It turns out the man had peanuts to feed the little squirrel. So he gave me about three to feed it.

The squirrel was very well-behaved—it even grabbed my hand to take the peanuts. It was so cute, and it was a special moment for me. I even thought about getting a squirrel as a pet, haha, but I know you’re not allowed to. So after a while, I had to say goodbye to my little friend.

I’ve gone back there since, but I haven’t seen her again. I hope to run into the little squirrel again sometime.

Feliz Fin de Semana muchachos, espero que la pasen bonito. Yo desde este pequeño rinconcito de mi hogar les escribo para contarles algo inoportuno que mi sucedio en la Plaza Simón Bolívar de mi ciudad.

Resulta que yo salí a caminar con mi primo, como es de costumbre. Y esta vez, escogimos la ruta del centro. Porque teniamos que regresar pronto a casa, y esta ruta es corta pero provechosa. Así que siempre caminamos por la 5ta avenida y luego cruzamos en el Centro Cívico para devolvernos luego por la 7ma avenida. Y resulta que cuando estamos pasando por la plaza, mi primo se percata que hay una ardilla en el árbol, así que nos acercamos paso a paso para no asustarla.

Lo que nos sorprendió fue que la ardilla no era miedosa. El señor que alquila teléfonos debajo de ese árbol la tiene amaestrada. Resulta que el señor tenía maní para alimentar a la ardillita. Así que me dió como 3 para que yo se los diera.

La ardilla se porto muy bien, incluso me agarro la mano para recibirme el maní, fue demasiado tierna, además que para mí fue un momento especial. Hasta pensé en tener una ardilla de mascota jaja, pero se que no se puede. Así que luego de un rato me tuve que despedir de mi pequeña amiga.

He vuelto a pasar por allí, pero no la he vuelto a ver. Espero volverme a encontrar a la ardillita, una próxima vez.
