RE: Banana leaf + endless refills = happy me !

Food tastes and smells so good when it’s cooked or served on banana leaves because the leaves give it such a wonderful aroma. Here in the Philippines, some people even wrap food in banana leaves when grilling. It prevents the food from being exposed directly to the heat and, at the same time, gives it an amazing fragrance and flavor.

While I was looking through your photos, I was reminded that we also use banana leaves here in the Philippines, although not all the time. For example, during family gatherings, we sometimes have what we call a “boodle fight,” where all the food is laid out on banana leaves, and everyone gathers around and eats together using our bare hands. It’s such a fun and communal way of enjoying a meal.

It turns out we actually have some similarities with certain parts of India.
