Esculturas de Jardín

En la antigüedad los jardines no solo eran el lugar de descanso y paseo, también era un lugar destinado a las reuniones y eventos sociales, grandes tertulias se llevaban a cabo en este lugar particular de las casas.

Gardens have always been an important part of homes, residential and commercial buildings. They represent that quiet and pleasant space that allows us to be in contact with nature.

In ancient times, gardens were not only a place to rest and stroll, but also a place for meetings and social events, great gatherings were held in this particular place of the houses.

Because having a beautiful garden was a symbol of social status, the wealthiest families sought to have huge and well-kept gardens. This space was not only decorated with ornamental plants and flowers, they also had large shrubs that were carefully pruned to maintain the aesthetics of the place and even to form figures, as you may have seen in the movies of the time where you can see the typical scene of loving couples walking along the sidewalks of large and beautiful gardens.

Since these gardens were also used for parties and religious ceremonies, the use of fine marble statues and huge water fountains became more and more present, giving a more sophisticated air to the space.

A few weeks ago I was visiting the city of Lecherías and had the opportunity to attend a pleasant meeting in the residential complex "Ventana al Mediterráneo" located in a central area of the city.

Walking through the green areas of the residential complex, I came across two beautiful statues, replicas of famous sculptures. These statues were located in the anteroom of the swimming pool, just in front of a brick wall with three arches that allowed a beautiful view of the pool.
I was curious to know a little about the origin of this modality of using sculptures and statues to decorate the gardens.

I was also able to learn that there is a branch of exterior design called landscaping, which is dedicated to the creation of beautiful, comfortable and functional outdoor spaces. To achieve a perfect harmony they can integrate natural elements such as ornamental and floral trees, plants, shrubs, flowers and vines with man-made structures such as walls, fountains, paths, sculptures, swings, among others.

I was really fascinated with everything that can be done to create a cozy and pleasant space in green areas.
