Despite the physical discomfort of our hiking adventure. After all the adventure, from all the hiking , challenging trails and I didn’t want to leave a single corner of this beautiful Levoča.

Late in the afternoon, we arrived into our accommodation and we were impressed by true blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. It was surrounded by authentic stone and wood.

After a day of adventure in Slovak Paradise the atmosphere was perfect for relaxing The harmony of quiet streets and historic landmarks made it a perfect spot to unwind. While enjoying the little adventure in the charming town of Levoča. After our short pause and we're excited to explore and enjoy the moments before the day ends.

Stepping back in time to a bygone era on Levoča where the town's well preserved architecture, history and atmosphere transported tourists to a different time period. We didn’t mind the tiredness from our hiking adventure and it was like an antidote. As we wandered around the town, it was filled into pure awe and admiration.

The streets were quiet even though it was late afternoon and it felt as if the town was ours to discovery and like like we owned the place. With only occasional passerby and just the birds chirping, breaking the silence around us. The place is untouched, free chaotic life of a modern city.

We enjoyed the walk to the town square, the Main Square (Námestie Majstra Pavla). We all admired the architectural design, colorful historic buildings and everywhere we looked was elegant. The Town Hall's clock tower rises gracefully with elegance at the heart of the charming town Levoča. The detailed Gothic features was a reminder to the town's rich architectural heritage.

My husband told us, we will visit St. James Church because of its tallest wooden altar in the world. When we went to the church, it was closed. Patiently waiting for the person in charge to open.

Before planning your visit, I would suggest verifying the opening hours and they might be subject to change. That time we visited no other tourist in the town and they closed the church.

In the heart of St. James Church is the magnificent wooden altar and a masterpiece of Gothic art crafted by Master Paul of Levoča. The wood carvings on the altar are astonishing. With intricate details of angels, saints and other biblical figures. We were amazed by Master Paul of its craftsmanship and detail.

The serene atmosphere of the church is sacred and we felt a sense of peace.
The atmosphere and stunning architecture created a perfect setting for a moment of reflection to appreciate history and art.

The Basilica of St. James, dedicated to St. James the Elder their Patron Saint. It is the largest sacral building in the Spiš region and has the second highest internal height of a nave in Slovakia after St. Elizabeth’s Cathedral in Košice.

On November 30, 2015, elevated its rank to Minor Basilica by Pope Francis and its recognition that further emphasized its spiritual significance.

It earned a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List by honoring its historical and cultural importance last 2009.

Before making our way to our cozy accommodation and our stomachs started to rumble. We found the perfect spot to eat at Hotel V Leva. And because of the beautiful weather and and we chose a table outside.

The view, the atmosphere and the food were everything perfect. Enjoying a delicious meal in such a beautiful setting and it was the ideal way to end our day of exploration.

Our stay was short in time and hopefully soon we can visit inside the other buildings of the small town. Especially the artwork of Master Paul.
