What I love most about traveling is discovering new places. The real excitement in traveling is uncovering a place so special. And realizing you get to be the one to tell others how truly beautiful it is- it deserve the spotlight. Added to the thrill when traveling with my family is even more special, the sense of wondering and creating more memories that will last forever.

Sometimes, those unexpected ones are more special, not planned ones, like our trip to Sonnen Berg before. Our journey started on a dark, cold morning. Before heading to Cotabato, and we were already in Davao City, we should have checked the place-Sonnen Berg Mountain View.

The name itself Sonnen Berg means the Sun Mountain in German. Nestled in the heart of Marilog, Marilog District of Davao City, Philippines. Right at crossing S on the main BuDa road-Bukidno-Davao Road. This destination offers a mesmerizing experience. Making it a perfect place to unwind and seeing it in person as a testament to nature's profound beauty.

Because it was talked of the town and we want to check it. And our plan was simple just to witness the mountain sunrise. The morning was still dark, air was crisp, cold morning when our journey began. I slept while we were going to our destination.

Finally arriving at Sonnen Berg and the sign under the dark sky felt like a quiet welcome. The moment we stepped out, I immediately felt the mountain air— it was cool, clean, and carrying a sense of peace.

A wooden table right on the balcony was the perfect spot with a perfect combination of hot brewed coffee. Fresh cool air and the sky was stunning. Like a canvas of deep, moody blues and greys.

I really understand that every time we travel. And my husband always says that. “Enjoy the moment, enjoy the beautiful view, feel it because it's not always like this, it's so precious and more. But that morning, standing on the balcony and it was the moment something shifted. I really understood what he meant. Watching the dramatic and beautiful sunrise, I found genuine peace.

Just a few quick shots and I put the phone down. Instead of seeing the view through my mobile screen, I allowed myself to simply be there. The mist covered the mountains and we felt we were entering a new world.

Every minute and I saw the light change. reflecting a thin strip of gold on the horizon.

The sky was incredible, the atmosphere felt so magnificent. The sun began its ascent and I slowly saw the mountain view. The perfect morning view witnessing the moment was more than just a souvenir. Being there was the great experience that captures my soul.

As beautiful as the sunrise was and it was time to leave. Our trip to Sonnen Berg was simple and it's more than just a destination. it was an experience where we felt nature's embrace and a profound sense of peace all over again.
