From Streets of Pordenone Town to Visiting The Charm And Sacred Place Of Duomo Concattedrale di San Marco, Pordenone, Italy.
Hello Fellow Travelers!.
This post is a continuation of my previous post. Following a peaceful visit in Pordenone Town. The town is not always on the top list of tourists. But the part that gives us peace and charms the small town.
Our path led us standing in front of the modest church. It was named as Duomo Concattedrale di San Marco or San Marcos Concattedrale. It is a Concattedrale, an Italian word that translates to co-cathedral in English. It shares functions of being a bischops seat with another cathedral.
My First Impressions from Outside The Concattedrale .
From the moment we saw it, standing in front of it. The Duomo really stood out, it reflects the simplicity of the town.
From its salmon pink facade and its aged stone columns. It reflects its town elegance. Although it's not the same as other grand Italian cathedral, its structure has effortless elegance.
The classic arched portal was framed in the entrance and has detailed on its column. And above the door was a simple yet classic arch. And noticed too that it has no flashy details but it's strong build architecture and demure charm. The little details of the church and its simplicity really belong to Pordenone Town.
From the strength of its stones tells how many years and stories to tell the town has.
**Stepping inside into a Sacred Place of Concattedrale.
**
It's really an amazing and grateful experience I felt when entering the Duomo Concattedrale. The feeling of entering into a dimension of peace.
The inside of the Concattedrale was a different story. Its interior was rich with sacred artistry and ornate detail. The Concattedrale interior was glowing with its natural light with its white and cream walls. The arched white ceiling is high above us.
The pipe organ immediately caught my eye because it was stunning. The size was perfect and it's not as the size of any Cathedrals. But it's the appropriate size and simplicity of Duomo.
Baroque carvings that framed it and its color white makes it elegant. For sure the music of the pipe organ will echoing through the Duomos walls.
The church's interior in every inch of display of devotion. Every inch of the church’s interior was a display of devotion. From its wall paintings and beautiful arches.
And the floor was classic, a checked marble pattern. It gives a beautiful walk toward the focal point of the Concattedrale: the altar.
A Heavenly Focal Point of Concattedrale: The Altar.
At the center of the Duomo Concattedrale, the main altar was beautiful and stunning. Walking towards the altar makes me feel blessed. It was breathtaking in a sacred way.
Above the altar was a vibrant mural painting of an angelic scene. The painting has its radiant glow. And on the side of the paintings, there are two elegant angel statues that stood on both sides. It's like they're protecting the main altar and facing the ornate tabernacle. The combination of both faith, art and architecture it has in the altar.
The red velvet, white lace and warm golden light and checkered marble pattern gives more details to the sacred atmosphere.
We have moments of praying and time of simply sitting, seeing it was so stunning entering the Holy Place.
Cappella Del Battistero
Duomo di San Marco is a peaceful and beautiful place filled with history. This Concattedrale showcases a preserved baptismal font crowned with religious artwork and a serene figure. And at the heart was a baptismal font decorated with paintings and a statue on top. The arched ceiling, old beautiful wall paintings, and quiet atmosphere make it feel calm and special.
A Warm and Peaceful Goodbye to Duomo Concattedrale
As we left the Duomo Concattedrale, we walked back through the cobbled streets of Pordenone Town with a sense of peace.
Duomo Concattedrale gives a chance to reflect and pause. And the simplicity and sacredness of Concattedrale is the importance of the small town, Pordenone.
