Discovering Salukot Mountain View and Resort: A Refreshing Side Trip In Alamada’s Hidden Gem.

After the long weeks of gathering requirements, stress, and processing documents for our wedding, visa requirements and again new documents I need to process again that we will bring to Slovakia for our residence permit. Finally, those days of processing were done, our visa in hand and looking forward to our flight.

All the effort, sleepless nights, overthinking if we have our visa had let to this success. It was a relief and we will be together.
Before leaving, Aya and I felt the need to take a moment to revisit my mom and other family members.

We visited my mom at the cemetery and I really missed her. And our simple visit that carried deep meaning. The first plan was to visit my family in the province, my father's side. There’s something about going home, especially in the province. The air itself feels different, life is slower,peaceful compared to the noise in the city, no rush just simple being you, enjoying simple life and the beautiful nature. I offered a silent prayer to my mom, a moment of thanks and I requested guidance as we prepared for our new journey abroad.

After our visit and before going home to the city, we decided to take a little side trip. And we spent a few hours exploring Salukot Mountain View and Resort in Alamada, North Cotabato. Our visit to Salukot happened last January 2023 and we had heard so much about Salukot's breathtaking views and inviting pool. So we decided to check and it's just near to my father's place.

When we arrived, the cool wind brushed against our skin. It was a breathtaking scene of endless sea of green surroundings and it blended with the breathtaking mountain view. From the entrance, a unique view greeted and instantly caught our attention. It was a Hobbiton and its inspired house with its round yellow door and brick-like design. Actually at that time it was not there were other statues there making and it was inspired by different cartoon or movie characters. Aya and Rodrei were thrilled to see it and we couldn’t resist taking pictures. Rodrei doesn't like it but his mom asks to have photos too. He didn't have any choices and had a selfie with Aya. We saw a quirky statue holding a sign that said “Welcome’’ which instantly brought laughter to the kids. It set the perfect tone for our small adventure.

Our walk continued, leading us deeper into a beautiful sight. We found the pool area and kids were excited to jump in the pool. We did not expect that the place is beautiful and we don't have swimwear for kids. And we told them next time because it was cold. The resort was set high up on the mountain, a breath of cold fresh air and it overlooked the entire landscape.

The view was absolutely stunning. Families and friends gathered around, children splashing with joy, swimming together even though it was cold and others relaxed on the cottages. It was a beautiful attraction that will boost the tourism of the province. It felt like a hidden gem tucked in the highlands and far away from the rush of city life that would like to set a simple moment to reconnect in nature.

The resort itself was a peaceful haven that offered a sense of total calm and a place to truly unwind. There are cottages scattered across the grounds and all facing that magnificent view. Salukot Mountain View and Resort offers charming villas inviting visitors to extend their stay and experience the serene night surrounded by nature.

Walking further and we stumbled upon Instagram-worthy spots that were perfect for capturing photos for our remembrance. We took the opportunity to snap pictures because with only a few people around. We captured simple yet beautiful moments that blended naturally with the peaceful and beauty of the surroundings. In those minutes, my stress and worries melted away. Nothing else mattered but the stunning view and the pure joy of being present. And all I felt was gratitude and our short escape gave me exactly what I wanted- a peaceful pause after all the stress and worries. Our little escape had refreshed not just my body, but my soul. And I simply enjoy the company of my family.

Our mini adventure was over with full more memories. Aya and I are waiting for the day of our flight to Slovakia. I hope you enjoyed our detour to Salukot. Have a wonderful day!
