A Night of Magic: Our Family Visit To The Story of Lights at Komárno Pevnost.
Christmas is just around the corner and winter evenings are different and something more special. The nights arrive early and long nights for us to sleep. The air feels more crisp and cooler. The world feels quieter and it's a winter wonderland.
Our small city in Komárno started to put up Christmas decor. Especially in the Pevnosť or Fortress in Komárno. We already planned to visit the fortress this season. And they have a theme this year “The Story of Light/Svetelný Park.” We went already to the fortress but it was summer time of 2023.
But now we want to see the beauty at night in the fortress in season. We knew we were in a magical full of lights. As soon as we entered the glowing fortress it was a night to remember. And add to our cherished family memories.
Lights glitter on the path that guide us into the fortress grounds. Christmas joy glowing everywhere. In the fortress ground there are different displays. Angel hot air balloon, massive gift box, train, bicycle, airship and many more creations glowed in the dark.
It instantly caught our attention was the massive glowing gift box. It stood tall and bright and waiting to be unwrapped like a giant surprise inside the gift box.
Even the trees and the fortress walls were wrapped in tiny lights. That completes the magical season.
After walking through the fortress and experiencing each glowing display—animals made of lights, Christmas ornaments, and festive shapes. That made the children even more excited. Every corner brought something new that filled with fascination. And Aya's eyes lit up just like the shimmering lights surrounding us and She was in the mood to have more photos taken of her. It turned into a simple evening walk that felt magical in its own way. The cold seemed to fade, the walk around the fortress was calm and refreshing. And it replaced by the warmth of the moment. We felt warm and also the simple joy of being together made everything brighter.
It was the moment to breathe, enjoy and be reminded that Christmas brings magic and happiness. We left the fortress with smiles on our faces and a lot more ready for the season.
Back in 2023, we visited the fortress.

Christmas is already in Komárno just like Philippines now, although we started decorating plazas and parks from September. Christmas is always a lovely celebration and I am glad your city has an early celebration of it. I like how perfect the lights create the figures of Christmas, especially that massive glowing giftbox. The sorroundings are just Christmassy and I can feel the joyous energy of everyone there. Thanks for taking us with this early Christmas enjoyment. Santa!❤️

Actually, I have lots of photos of Aya. Even though it was cold and she didn’t care at all. And she loves winter. I’m happy we visited the place at night. A simple evening walk in the fortress.🥰🤗
