Walking at Gouves Seaside, November 21st [part 2]

Hello my friends!
Are you ready for another 'beachy' digital travel? It's November, almost wintertime.. and photographers are eagerly waiting to shoot the amazing winter sunsets!

This day appeared to be very impressive since its beginning.
Very expressive clouds in the sky. That alone was a reason for me to go out at the afternoon.

Let's go to Gouves in Crete!

Beautiful, seaside Gouves...
It is only a few kilometers from Heraklion (the capital of Crete) and the main international airport.

Gouves is a large seaside village, that has everything you can ask for. Shops, supermarkets, cafeterias, restaurants, sandy beaches and a fantastic vibe during summer time! This post is about how Gouves looks during winter. I hope you will enjoy the photos and the tour!

Overall, the seaside is approximately 3,5 kilometers. During my first walk I did half the way and a little bit more, and this time a little bit less than half :)

My starting point was the beach next to the Hotel Amirandes, I walked ashore until Saint Constantine Chapel.

On the left, the photo from near my houseon the right, the view to hotel Amirandes!

I did not have the time to wander through the closed hotel, but I promise next time I will.

This is the beach right in front of the hotel.

And here the view to the right/east side.

As I walk, the signs of winter .. and abandonment are obvious

But there is a sweetness in this loneliness. I found it so relaxing to walk by the empty beaches. A few moments later I reached one of the popular restaurants of the area. The island!

There are a few sandy beaches in the area of Gouves, and trust me they are soooo full in the summer!
Here we see Sirocco & Limanaki Beach. And a white egret :) (I could not get a closer photo)

Just a few steps ahead, I get near the little hidden beach - and here are some winter photos of the spot and the rocks around it

Do you see the small pebbles? These are what you see in this beach. Next to it, it is all sandy! But here, small pebbles in the water.

It is time to take the way back, I do not enjoy walking alone at night, so I always leave a little bit earlier.

You will also have the chance to see an ancient Minoan settlement, that was discovered when some apartments were being constructed. This place is still being excavated, so we do not know many details about it yet. It probably comes from Minoan Era.

And now its really time to go back home.
Let's breathe in some more views ..

Inhale..

Exhale..

And that's it!

Thank you for your time! I hope you enjoyed it!

What about Gouves Area?

Gouves, is a charming seaside village in the island of Crete, Greece and is nestled within the Hersonissos municipality. It is situated approximately 20 kilometers to the east of Heraklion city and Nikos Kazantzakis International Airport (HER).

Archaeological discoveries have revealed that the area has roots stretching back to the Minoan era. The name, "Gouves," is derived from "Gouva," which is the plural form of the word for "hollows," and it refers to the intriguing natural depressions scattered throughout.

You offer us a pleasant walk along the coast of that attractive place in Crete, an area so mythical and of particular value to the West. Its sea and solitude are very striking. Greetings, @katerinaramm.

This beach is simply gorgeous! I am fascinated by clouds and water. I don't know if it's your photography or your processing, but I think I'm in love with this place and your photos.

You had a great walk and pleasant time at the beach
The beach looks very big and I want to ask if it is possible to get to the end of the water…

Hi!
I am not sure what you mean by 'get to the end of the water', but yes. You can walk on the beach, or even swim if you dont mind the temperatures.
